Jon Obi Mikel?

Even then though at the time no one would have said they where Moyes type players yet Moyes proved everyone wrong and went for them. I think he's realised that you can't always have players like Carsley, Stubbs, Weir and Hibbert etc who just get on with it and are model professionals.

That’s another area he’s improved on in my opinion. He’s learned to deal with different personalities whereas a few years ago he wouldn’t have looked at a player like Yakubu.

I think Yakubu and possibly Manny might be ultra-important in Moyes growing as a manager. These are two men that are not similar to Moyes in any way shape of form. On a social level, Moyes would never be able to get along with them as friends. However, Moyes' duty is to Everton football club and I think he is starting to understand that team-building is not about staffing the team with hard-working, down-to-earth presbyterian types but about employing those that will get the job done. You sometimes have to allow the more animated types their own space if it means that, as a consequence, the team grows and prospers because of it. Nevertheless, there is backbone to the team that a manager will always make as a reflection of his own personality. I don't see anything wrong with that as it allows the manger access to some key team-personalities on a more personal, rather than professional, level.

Agreed.

It’s about getting the right balance really. Players like Fernandes, Yakubu and Anichebe with players like Neville, Hibbert, Lescott and Cahill.

But also about finding a replacement sometime soon for Neville/Hibbert. A lot of people seem to think that we are solid at RB. I agree but we're trying to get onto the CL gravy train and we won't do it if we see that position as being adequately staffed.

I've been saying the same thing for ages mate. We definatly need a new and improved right back, someone who's decent defensively and has quality going forward. We need a more rounded right back in my opinion.

Someone with pace would be nice. We don't play with natural wingers so its important that we have to overlaping fullbacks who can get beyond the winger and give us width. Baines an do the job on the left but we need someone on the right who's capable.

I think Miguel fits the bill at Valencia. He wants to leave, Valencia have financial problems, he's at a good age and according to Sotnas he'd cost around 6-8 million which is a good price. He's a decent defender and excellent going forward.

I agree about Anelka, the lad scores goals no matter what team he plays for, with him and the Yak you can almost guarantee 40-50 goals between them

Yeah, he's a good player but...he has problems with his night life activity.

Valencia will sell Villa and after that I don't see how they need to sell anybody else.

He always has had though. Miguel's supposedly always been a bit of a party animal. Its only recently that its actually affected his performances.

I think he needs to get away from Valencia and I think he will. I doubt it'll be to Everton but he'd definatly be a good signing for us.

I'd be over the moon if this happened. I have rated Mikel ever since I first seen him for Chelsea and he never disappoints me when I see him play.

Unfortunately I'd be surprised if he moved to us but you never know, well worth a try if we get any encouragement off Scolari.

Moyesie has more sense than to buy this piece of sheet from the Chavs..

I can't stand the guy in case you hadn't worked it out. Maybe you remember the Manc/Chav argument over him and how he magically changed his mind. Maybe you remember the Souness like tackle on Lee Carsley (I think) which got him a red card in the LC Semi. Maybe you remember his antics in other games. Sorry lads, he's not and never will make an Everton type player.
