Also, I very much doubt Lescott has only just come out now and said he wants to leave. I think Moyes has known about this for a while, he's bound to have had numerous discussions with Joleon about his future since he came back from pre-season.

Everton could have also kept their mouths shut about the transfer request.

No I don't. I know you don't mate, with you it's always a case of the grass is always greener on the other side.

'Mout's better than Arteta lid, Hangeland's well better than Joleon Lescott.'

I don't think it's anything to do with his price tag, I think he sees Manchester City as a better career option. A team with more potential and a team that can double his salary.

It's only natural, if I was playing for Villa I'd do the same thing, I'd certainly think about what City has to offer. It's an exciting prospect as a whole.

If he ends up going on strike then that's a different matter all together, as of now he hasn't though. If he gives his all for Everton and Moyes is happy with him then so am I. Anyone who helps us win games will get my support.

The fact that he's acting all "Look, they want me so I can treat you all with total disrespect" (That's if the strike thing is true, as you said) is to do with the price tag in my opinion.

I doubt he'd do that if City where offering £10million for him, would you?

The thing is, I agree it probably is a better career move for him, he'll win more there, he'll get more money there & he'll play with better players.

What I hate about him now is the way he's done it. The timing of the transfer request, and the fact he can't understand why it had to be rejected. If he done it a month earlier, then it could have all been different. In fact, if he done it a month ago I'd have been over the moon - I've said all summer I'd let him go for £15-£20million.

I'm not giving him any support, I'll probably end up sitting on the fence with it. Wont boo him during the game, yet I can't see me going out the way to applaud him or encourage him.

I think, personally and I know ive been trotting this out, but I think he was honestly seeing what sort of progress we made with regards to getting players in. Hes saw nothing, so he wants to take the easy and more exciting option, not to mention the bump in wages.

Hell he doesnt even have to move house, so what if those nasty Everton fans will boo him twice a year, hes super rich.

He owes us nothing, we bought him for 5 we can sell him for 20. Win, Win for Everton, but the timing sucks, whether that is his fault or whether that is Moyes being stubborn and trying to force him to stay, who knows, probably a bit of both.

I dont blame him wanting to leave, doesnt mean I will forgive him.

If he had came out after the cup final and said he wanted to leave the deal could have been done a month ago for 20 mil i would have helped him on his way but leaving us in the s**t with no players is unfair and should repay us by wanting to stay with us and not handing in a request to leave. When we took a chance on a player who had not played for over a year when we signed him.

I'll just point out I said this and what Toccy said pages ago so give me a biscuit....

Dont blame him going -in his head we cant offer him anything, we've not capitalised on one of our best seasons for a while, we dont have any money, we're not improving the squad...

And I agree with Azzbot too....terrible timing.

My brain. I heard the chairman of hull on the radio before and he mentioned that if lescott goes it starts a flurry of centrebacks moving. we are getting their lad. Believe me, no source.
