Geez, I read through another 300 posts and I'm still seeing some of the same shocking drivel.

Some of you need to get it through your THICK SKULLS that there's somehow this idea that everyone in the world BUT footballers are allowed to try to get a higher wage. You need a reality check and quick.

It isn't about how many cars they can have or how many homes they can have. It's about getting the most that they reasonably can while having a limited career life.

I mean I just made a job change for a higher wage (plus bonus) and no one called me out for being disloyal or greedy. No one told me that I owed it to my old employer to stay because "they made me the employee that I am." No one threatened to come boo me at my new office and hang signs up saying "TX Bill = Judas."

Yeah, I'd love to see Lescott stay with Everton and be "loyal" to us. Same with all of our other players. By the way, how do we bring in new players if we expect them to be "loyal" to their current club?

Hey, I don't like it anymore than you do and frankly, I'm glad that Moyes is sticking to his guns with the whole Lescott saga but the next person that forgets we live in a society where we are entitled to have the ability to increase our standard of living, no matter where we are on the scale, I'm gonna have a go at them.

It's not about Lescott leaving. I've wanted him to leave all summer for a good price. I haven't once called him disloyal.

Who gave him the chance to play at the top level of English football again? Who took the chance on him not being an absolute cripple and turning him in to an England International after he had his knees done?

The fact that he's come out and said he wont play is utter, utter scum. The way he's treated the club during the whole thing is down right disrespectful - he owe's us, and the least he could do is respect the fact there really isn't that much time to replace him, and play 'till we can find a replacement. But now he's got a titty lip on because it's not going his own way.

Full on scum bag.

I've said all along he didn't strike me as the loyal type - but I didn't think he was the type who'd completely scum the club like he's done.

to be fair to jo he wasnt played well at city and never was given a chance, when hughes played him it was bit parts and played him wide instead of down the middle and i have said this god knows how many times on our forums and hughes made a big mistake in not playing him.

he seems a lot happier at everton and i watched some of the games he was playing for you last season and he was the type of player we was crying out for.

whats the everton point of view on jo ?

Nice bit of arse kissing their mate. We still hate Man City though, best get used to it.

Gary Owen, now there is one belter - bet he's loving all this.

Back on topic. I think Jo is ok, bit clumsy, but he's Brazilian so he has to be like Pele.

He doesn't owe us [Poor language removed] other than fulfilling his contract. And we didn't make him into the player he is today.

He happen to develop as the player he's at today while he was with us.

He tried his luck with a transfer request and failed. If he's a professional, which I suspect he is, he'll be out on the pitch for us on Saturday anchoring the backline.

I really don't have a problem with the transfer request either. Where I'll have a problem is if he decides to sulk about it, not give his all, drag the dressing room camaraderie down, etc... Then I'll be hacked. But we don't have any indication that's going to happen (yet).

But until he's NOT an Everton player, I'm gonna back him.

And he's scumbag for wanting to increase his wages? Wow !!!

Agreed.

That's how I see it.

If he was still playing for Wolves, would he be linked to City to make him one of the most expensive defenders of all time? Yeah, think again.

And considering his agents already said he will be going on strike unless we sell him, that just blows your last two paragraphs out the water.

If you read my post, (let me make this clear for you) I NEVER SAID IT WAS BECAUSE HE WANTS TO INCREASE HIS WAGES, IT'S THE WAY THAT HE'S GONE ABOUT IT ALL.

Got that?

TX - for me it's about the timing of the whole issue, and also Cahill coming out saying he needs to think of his family.

What an insult that is to the rest of the country struggling to make ends meet. If Lescott can't support his family on 40k a week then were all ****ed.

No, he'd have just joined another club and got to the level he is at now. The lad was the best centre back in the Championship, he had quite a few options. He actually chose us over a few clubs because (supposedly) we where one of his favourite teams as a kid.

I didn't say that you said that. I've said a lot have said that and they've been flat wrong.

I take what his agent says with a grain of salt. We hold the cards and his agent knows that. He isn't going on strike. You know it and I know it. He'll be playing for us unless he's sold.

But he isn't playing for Wolves now is he? But he could have easily been playing for another Premier League club so I wouldn't give Everton that much credit anymore than I would blame Everton because Per Kroldrup had a horrid time here.

And who else was in the running for the best defender in the Championship? Not many, other wise we wouldn't have got him. We gave him the chance to be what he is today. End of.

You'll take the whole thing with a pinch of salt if it means you don't have to admit to any of this being true.

I didn't say he's playing for Wolves, we signed him, we gave him the chance, now look how he repays us?

Good to see that your defending him though, nice one (y)

That's a strawman. It goes back to every person having the opportunity to increase what they earn in their profession. That fact that some are somehow trying to take some sort of moral high ground here makes me laugh. What part of "the right to try to earn more" don't people understand?

I doubt that the whole country is struggling. If it was, stadiums would be empty cause no one could afford to go.

Yeah, he could have been better on his timing, no doubting that. But what's done is done. Time to move past it. He's either going to be playing for us or he's gonna be sold. He won't be riding the bench, that I can assure you of.

If city dont pay 30 mill, let him go on strike just means he wont go the world cup. Lescott knows if this drags on until next week city will go to buy someone else. Then he will have to shut up and get on with it:lol:

And nice one to those calling him a traitor or a Judas, a scumbag, etc....
