I agree here. Laying the blame at Heitinga is a bit misdirected. Yes he screwed up. But Howard should b collecting that all day long, and commanding Heitinga to get his arse out the way.

Saha played worse, had several chances and didn't do jack. Distin looked when he came on. Mcfadden added something different to our attack. Why on earth did Drenthe and colemen swap?

in his first season, he was awesome. To be honest, if I was playing in the world cup final and was first choice for Holland, I might wonder why I wasn't getting a game in a struggling club side too. Having said that, like many dutch players, his attitude is questionable and I doubt he will ever be at his best for us again...whether he tries too hard or can't be bothered, both situations give goals away.

He wasn't our worst player against newcastle, but seeing as he is fairly sellable, we could get our money back and try to find some elixir of youth for Distin. I really wish he was a few years younger

Just as a note - if something happens he can play right back, too. For me - he should still be there before Neville.

I wont bat an eyelid when he goes. Completely flawed as a centre back and at fault for the goal against Utd and today vs Newcastle. Him and Bily have both been shocking signings, all things considered. Both can leave.

I think for me Moyes got a couple of things wrong. Heitinga made it difficult to drop because I thought he was one of our better players against Man United however he should have gone with Distin at centrehalf to combat the height/physicality of Ba/Best. He didn't even have to drop Heitinga either because he could have played him centre mid instead of Neville who in my opinion was ****e.

There's a number of problems with the side at present and I think it will probably take a while for Moyes to resolve them. The bigger concern surely has to be how much we're getting battered down the wings time after time.

He should have gone in the summer, but I guess we couldn't find anyone to give us a realistic price for him.

A realistic price would have been unacceptable to us. An unrealistic one would have us biting their hands off!

As for the OG, from what I saw, Tim Howard seemend to acknowledge that it was his fault for not shouting.

We MUST play Distin though, he's our best defender. Maybe he should try Heitinga and Distin together for a while, and give Jags a rest.

No. it's not rocket science when you play Arsenal , City , UTD or teams in Europe then there's an argument to pick Heitinga when most of the play is on the deck where his strength lies, when you play Newcastle away who play with 2 target men both good in the air you play your two centre halfs who enjoy defending set pieces and crosses into the box , it's the managers job too know when and why you pick certain players for different games , it's called having a real understanding for the game , and IMO if Distin and Jags start that game yesterday we get a point minimum ,

And iam not just blaming Heitinga for the OG , he got bullied for the first 30 mins of the game , as soon as Distin came on we where the better side there after
