What I said was next window or the latest September .

The reason it wouldn't suprise me about Januray is that to a degree the dust will have settled,Stones will have either repeated his position and or the offer of a new contract will have been accepted or declined. Any plan that the two clubs have agreed will come into play etc. The politics will have played out. It's akin, in mind to the WBA situation
I know you hedged a bit on which window but it is why you included Janaury at all that I am intrigued by, especially as you think we'll get at most 5m more than we've already turned down.

Why do you think Stones repeating his position going to make any difference to us selling him in January even if he doesn't sign a new contract? He still has a long time left on his existing one and he'll need to piay to have a chance of getting in the Euros and we'll have only gained another few months of Funes Mori setttling in and Browning/Galloway developing.

Several instances you've implied some great politics/conspiracy behind the scenes and the only evidence you've backed it up with is a source you've admitted is more itk with Aston Villa and who thought either Benteke or Kane would be at Chelsea on Sept 1st.

WBA haven't sold Berahino so not sure what point you are trying to make there.

The reason I can't help but feel that he will not be at Everton come seasons end is that there is a certain inevitability about things and he clearly is going to become a player who is destined for the top and despite this long contract he will know, his agent will know, Everton will know, indeed all supporters will know he won't win the type of things that are out there playing at Everton. A new contract may settle things in the short term but part of any negotiation will be about future suitors

That's really harsh I know but his earnings potential is way above anything on offer at Everton.CL in all likelihood won't be available at Everton, and based on recent history it's unlikely his trophy cabinet will need upgrading unless he moves on.

The story I was told was that the transfer was going to happen but the deal was derailed . Make what you want of that.

People keep talking about the Euros almost as if it's going to be the pinacle of his career but he will be looking way past that . He isn't guaranteed to be in any starting eleven nor in truth is it certain he will be in the squad at that tourament.

I have no doubt that RM wants to keep him nor do I doubt that BK is of like mind but both of them are realists and will know that in football there is very limited loyalty . Football is about the here and now . You often hear about 5 year plans but the truth is they never in reality get delivered.

Berahino will be gone once a bid comes in for him that matches WBA valuation the reason he didn't go the last window was more about Levy as opposed to taking a stand

Be under no illusion that clubs will already be setting their targets for both the next and indeed subsequent transfer windows . Stones is destined for the top and without the huge investment needed to take Everton to the next level he will be gone.

Seeing as everyone isn't privy to your source and the conversations and revelations that have been passed on what's you exact interpretation of it?

I'm agree he is unlikely to be here past September next year although stranger things have happended.

I just don't think he will be going in January (which is the part of your initial post I was questioning) short of a significantly increased bid by Chelsea as can't see any disadvantages to either Everton or Stones in waiting until the summer window when there could well be other parties interested. A January move is only likely to be beneficial to Chelsea imo.

I also don't quite understand how you can state Stones is due to get to the very top but equally believe we won't get more than 35m for him.

I think the key here is just what has already been offered. Now I have no idea of the exact figures and we all have read what has been reported and whilst the market is inflated I just have a sneaky feeling that Chelseas offers to date have not been anywhere near those suggested hence in Januray I can't help but feel there will be a bid that makes Evertons board re think matters

It's an opinion . I might be right I might be wrong but it's what I think will be the case.

You mean they didn't really offer 30m in their confirmed third bid?

I'm probably am being incredibly dumb here (even without drinking any wine!) but I am totally confused bith as to what you think happened and believe might happen. And then reconcile whatever that is with your stated belief we won't get over 35m.

Confirmed bid? They may well have made one, two, three bids but the value of those bids I don't think have ever been confirmed by either club
