I suspect he'll go to Chelsea sooner or later. In all honesty, probably in Jan.
Not sure why, Martinez has frequently commented that he doesn't like to do major business in the January window - unless Mori adapts very quickly and/or one of Browning/Galloway progress a lot we'd have to buy a replacement with little time to bed them in.

The following summer there will be far more money available to all clubs and his value could change with the Euro's. Would be a risky move for John himself as he'll want regular game time to get into the Euro squad and Mourinho is unlikely to play a CB without drilling him on the training ground for a few weeks.

Unless Chelsea offer us eye watering amounts would guess a January move is unlikely.

We will lose stones next summer and maybe Lukaku will also leave as well.
If we don't make the CL this season and Lukaku scores us circa 20 league goals, then he'll leave, assuming someone puts up the required amount, as I'm certain he'll feel he wants CL football the following season.

But looking at this alongside the Stones situation, you have to ask what fee we'd be looking for... Feels like someone would have to come in with an ASTRONOMICAL bid

and rightly so. look at the genuine lack of top class strikers in this league, never mind throughout europe. he's probably the 3rd or 4th best striker in the league behind aguero, costa and possibly one other.

with chelski allegedly poised to take another run at him come January, i'd start at 40m and tack on 1mil more for each point they are behind Citeh or whoever else is leading the league.

if we were to sell. but i prefer our current approach.

Yeah defo mate, but I don't think Rom would be as subtle as Mr Stones if he wanted away. He'd be more akin to the Sterling envelope imo. If I'm being completely honest I think we already know and maybe have even discussed that scenario with him and his agent.......

Paul Merson's words of wisdom (!). He gave our transfer dealings a C grade (bear in mind he gave Arsenal a 'B' and they only signed one player):

That just about sums up the hypocrisy/stupidity of these pundits. Stones is 'only the difference between one or two positions', yet by the same token, he's apparently the future of Chelsea and a future England captain. So basically he's rubbish because he stayed with us, and would be great if he went to Chelsea.
Paul Merson was an alcoholic drug addict, whose only role on sky sports is to make everyone else look intelligent, or to be laughed at.

No, we rejected £38m last week apparently

Not according to Martinez, as of his press conference on Friday morning.

He categorically stated in answer to a question that there had been no 4th bid, and the most that had been bid was the 3rd bid of £30m. This was after Kenwrights statement when everything was put to bed.
