John Heitinga: Sell me now or I’ll walk for free

Thankfully he's quite a big name player so we'd almost certainly get about 5m for him.

Duffy can't be any worse than him, and in fact looked more than good enough when called upon by Moyes a year ago. He'll make a decent third choice, and then the next manager can look to either shift Duffy to Jagielka's partner in a year when Distin goes down the pan, or look to replace Disty with a decent centre back.

If Vermaelen is really available though we have to be in for him. And for a few million more than Heitinga he'd be an absolute steal. Let's get Migniolet while we're at it - surely our Belgian bridage could help sway a few deals.

Apparently we couldn't get him off the books at half that last year. I'd be surprised at anything more than a nominal fee and his wages off our books.

Got to go down as a poor signing considering Moyes never fancied him, rarely played him, and he's on silly money.

Didn't LCAB say that he had to be properly coaxed to come here from Atletico? Hence why we're paying QPR-esque wages for a QPR standard player.

You'd have thought he'd wait to see whether the new manager is willing to give him more game time.

I thought that but I reckon he's just looked round and seen Jags and Distin be miles better than him (plus Duff?!) and thought sod it I'll get in a pre-emptive strike.

Get rid what we lose in a transfer fee,we will recoup in the wages saved.
Mr Duffy your time has come to step up to the mark.

I don't think he's a bad player at all but he's lost his desire to get stuck in over the last 12 months and that's resulted in too many half arsed performances, which indicates a severe lack of professionalism.

He has a winning mentality though and I'm certain he'll do a good job for whoever picks him up. His time at Everton is definitely over though.

At least he's being honest about what will happen. Would be good if the "manager" that gave Osman the contract extension could flog Heittinga for £3M quickly and get him off the books, but decisive action is not possible at Goodison it seems.

If he's got a winning mentality why has he played like a [Poor language removed] for a good 50% of his Everton career?

What a difference a year makes. Player of the season last season, donkey who's hopeless this season. I think we should cash in, but boy do some people have short memories.

Because he doesn't care obviously. As I said, he's obviously got a poor level of professionalism but we've seen how good he can be when he has the bit between his teeth.

Let's not pretend he's completely atrocious just because he's going, he was our player of the year for a reason this time 12 months ago.

What's he won?

Shaking your fist and snarling kids doesn't make a winner.

He's a beaut. Nothing more.
