We'd be in the last 16 of the champions league if Robles was our keeper this season.
I don't see it. I know this is just going to be interpreted as me defending Howard again, but nothing from yesterday's match makes me think that any nerves or disorganization among our defenders have anything to do with the goalkeeper. When we set out to be clearly organized and defend as a unit, the unit works together (including the goalkeeper), as we saw against Tottenham, Southampton, and Man City (both in the league and in the first leg of the league cup). When we don't, everybody looks like they just met for the first time the day before. That holds just as true for yesterday's match and the one against Barnsley at the beginning of the season as it does for the recent Swansea and Chelsea matches and the Manchester United match (to use only the most egregious examples).Regardless of wether you think Joel is the answer. There is a clear difference in trust between GK and defenders as there is with Howard in goal. That alone for me makes me believe that we'd be much better off.
Joel Robles is better than Timothy Howard, and I am delighted the entire forum now sees that
Ah. Well... Almost the entire forum
There's always one, who will argue black is white or vice versa - come back Doug!lolAh. Well... Almost the entire forum
And don't you just know who'll be back in goal next Wednesday! It may not be pleasant!
Possibly the standard of the opposition must be considered.I don't see it. Can't wait for him to palm a tame Andros Townsend cross straight to Jonjo Shelvey for his first goal for the club
We just did it a week ago and our defense looked great.Possibly the standard of the opposition must be considered.
