Joel Robles

......goalkeepers with big frames can look really intimidating when you face them in a penalty shoot out, hopefully he's learned that advantage rather than crouching and diving out at the ball.

RM has to pick his best team and this lad has done enough to force his way into that. There has to be an incentive for fringe players to keep their place if they come in with an improved performance than the regular incumbent. Hope he starts on Sunday but we might have to put up with a mistake or two.
Its so obvious Galloway will look at that and realise he out even if Bainse come back , and plays rubbish!

.....Galloway has been great but the judgement call on Baines is a little different because he offers so much with a football at his feet. Baines might take a few games to get up to speed and might not have the same defensive qualities but the trade off is the quantity of chances/goals provided.

I think Martinez is standing up to the fans here.

There was never any love for Alcaraz even though he was a player Martinez really rated. He performed poorly and never got a new contract. There was that interview where RM said he felt that he was treated harshly by the fans.

I think he's trying to keep picking Howard despite the growing shouts for Joel, at least partly to stand up to us.

Baines is coming back form a very bad operation - I agree it will take him time to get to speed, so perhaps Galloway can stay in till he is 100% fit or cliam a place in the back two his more natural position?

I knew it was my fault........

Played well last night. Fair play. He actually looked quite decent for a change.
Thats well accepted by you , and I promise if Howard shows more consistency i will be on here to praise him, but I feel Robles did enough to keep his place on Sunday where big Sam will play on Tims lack of form on crosses!
We shall see how he copes a win is a must though as we played poor last night - RM has started to worry me a little!

Or he is just a bottler!

....to be fair, RM gave Galloway a real vote of confidence in not only throwing him in but keeping him there. He's a real talent and I think that is obvious to all at the club. Baines will need games to get up to speed, I don't see Galloway immediately forcing a place at CB but whilst Jagielka is out he will be next cab on the rank.
