This is a classic example of wanting to be right so much they've lost the logic of what they're even arguing. They think backing Howard relentlessly makes them boss Evertonians. Robles is not a world class goal keeper (from what little we've seen) but is he better than Howard? Yes. That should be enough. According to the oracles on here though he doesn't deserve a go over Howard because he's not world class. Clueless.

Who is genuinely angry about Joel's performance?

For me the most puzzling thing for most that seems so obvious to me is Joel is a player the manager bought. You imagine that if he truly felt Joel was the #1 option he'd go with it the first chance he got. I think it speaks volumes about what the manager thinks of the two keepers IMO...whether you agree with him or not.

However, had it been a goal against Howard, the usual Howard bashers here would no doubt be saying he should have claimed one of those crosses because they were around the 6 or called McCarthy off before that clearance. No issue for me if he keeps his place. Howard has been very poor the last 3 starts he's had.

Martinez will lose my support if he carried on with this stubbon streak of his starting players who don't deserve it. Howard was dreadful,Robles was good. OK I will still start Howard. Martinez did say he believe a goalkeeper sgojld nt have to fight for his place a it will make them nervous and you can't have nervous keepers but keeping a keeper in who past his best is plain silly and will cost him his job

He said that? That's a terrible theory. You have one bad game at United as a keeper and that could be your career at United over never mind a starting place. It seems to work for them. Seriously if you can't overcome nerves about being droped you don't deserve to be starting anyway.
