Joel Robles

how desperate are the yanks, pretty poor that you lot are determined to have a pop at robles because he is from a proper FOOTBALL country
Come on mate, they're not all of the same opinion. Some are, some aren't, like everything else.

All this serves to do is wind up most of the sensible US fans.

He froze. No idea what to do. It was a fluke goal that Howard would have been blamed for before it even went in. It's the nature of this place.
No mate, it's the nature of football fans in general.

There should have been a defender within at least 6 yards of the back post, but there wasn't. Weird that people are people are pinning it on Robles.

Although it looked dodgy, I agree with those who reckon that Robles was not to blame. He was well-positioned and the header looped onto the far post. Lukaku and mc Carthy stopped and allowed a more alert Roldan to run onto the ball but importantly there was no one on the far post.

Other than that Robles looked secure and I hope he will still be our number one keeper next time out.

This 100% only watched it a couple of times but if whoever is marking rondon follows him then he hooks it away.
Robles is in the position he is on because he is looking to attack the corner himself and come get the ball. Something most goalies should do against west brom to show you are going to come for crosses and you are not going to let them bully you and get balls in from each angle.
Saying that, once the flick on occured he could of adjusted his feet quicker.
But to slate him after one goal conceded in 4 this season and 1 goal in 6 prem games is silly

Completely disagree. I made this! Note the four players marking thin air.

Rom and McCarthy shouldn't have bothered at the rest are either goal side of within touching distance of an attacking player.

I am a Robles fan but he stood transfixed as the ball looped over his head. His feet did not move.

He looked as if lost in a moment of quiet contemplation.

However, it was the first goal this season that was his fault.

If only Tim could say the same.

Agreed.

Lloris found himself in a somewhat similiar situation yesterday but miraculously got a hand to the ball a split second before an incoming City player was presented with a free header into the net.

Joel could have done better, but not at fault.

Mori was weak in the initial header, and what McCarthy and Rom were doing is beyond me.

Down to Coleman conceding the stupid corner in the first place by trying to run the ball out of play, as well.

Much as there might be a clamour for Howard to be replaced. Robles is NOT the answer. Clutching at straws hoping he is I think. The likes of Butland, or Forster, would transform our defence and give us another 10/12 points a season. Top priority for our team in my opinion.
