The polls since the day prior to the start of the RNC have narrowed by a bit less than 1 point, per Real Clear Politics, and less than .5 point per 538. One would have to think the POTUS' campaign would have desired a bit bigger bump than that.

Perhaps Don, Jr took all of that bump?

I was reading something earlier from Michael Moore who was pointing to narrowing polls in battle ground states and he sees a surge for Trump.

Yes, of course. I suspect no one here is saying they'd choose him if given a choice among a large set of qualified candidates, but speaking for myself (and likely others) I'm a "never Trumper" and the reason for this stance is best described in this tweet:

So true. We’re talking about a man who, in spite of endless warnings from scientists and meteorologists and everyone in its path acquiring special sunglasses ahead of time, still chose to (at least momentarily) stare directly into the sun during a solar eclipse.

I have to admit I never watched that one. But not surprised. I should have said generally his movies have been good haha!
