So are Saha and Vaughan not injury prone? Does Victor score goals as a centre forward from the start? Is Yakubu not recovering from a very serious injury?

Nothing at all is wrong with what I've said to be honest and I'm sure alot of people would agree with me.

Ofcourse we'd all like to see Baxter break through but a bit of realism is needed. He's still a very young kid.

Well to be honest i think i have more confidence in the above four then you seem to. Theres not even an iota of doubht in my mind that the striking positions are well covered for next season. By your assessment you could say that Cahill or Arteta, Jacobson etc are as injury prone as the Yak, i wouldnt be scrapheaping him just yet.

Saha and Vaghan are class players, im not one who subscribes to the idea of Vaughan being brittle i just think hes been unlucky and the nature of his injuries would suggest that rather then having reacurring musciler injuries they are the result of impact and bad luck. Appaerntly no significant long term damage has been done by injuires up untill this point. Saha is injury prone his body just isnt up to regular football, he should and is being used approriately and sparingly to get the best out of him for himself and for the club he has played 17 times this seaosn with 8 or 9 games to go, not bad like.

Harsh on Vic, he will never score 20 goals a season and is still a young lad and will improve but some of his performences in terms of team performences are sublime. There alot more to centre forward play then just scoring goals.

Jose is 17 now mate, he will be 18 next season, it would be wrong to say he wouldnt be given a chance on age alone, if he has the ability Moyes wil play him either in the hole coming on, or upfornt, i dont think he will start but certianly there may well be a role as a sub i would be surprised if he wasnt blodded next season. Not to mention Jukebox and Agard. Anyway i think its pretty clear Moyes leaves space in the squad for youngsters to come through.

Equally Cahill and Mofro can do a more then quality job playing more advanced.

Tacticly you would have to say that we have often set up with just one up front and have changed it depending on the circumstances of the game by maybe bringing another forward on.

I think and beleive that with all our forwards fit and available it may be hard to come a corss a place on the bench never mind in the team. In terms of numbers and quality i beleive we have enough.

Golas havnt been a problem for us this season despte the exceptional set of circumstances we have found ourselves in, in that context with three returning strikers next season its safe to say im not worried at all. So why drop a precious transfer budegt on a striker we really dont need.

Out of intrest its likely someone would have to leave to bring someone else in, who would you let go?

We dont need a striker mate thats pretty clear.

The above is highly unlikely, its dangerous talking in absolutes about the future and the above wouldnt be good enough to convince me of paying a loan fee never mind a transfer fee. I like Jo, i like a lot of other available strikers out there, there not needed at Everton though unless we shed a body.

Funnily i made the point during the summer about Gos and Rodders and the youngsters breaking through, the response at the time was like yours above, lets hope he breaks through soon, im 100%confident hel do the buissness.

Not in the least bit worried about our striking situation as it stands.(y)

You're never worried like. I wish i was you.

What if we were to sell Anichebe for 3-4 million, then buy Jo for the 10-11 million thats floating around, effectively picking him up for 7-8mill?

I'm a fan of Jo but there's a more pressing priority wide right. Personally I think we can cope with CM between Neville, Arteta, Cahill, Fellaini and Osman, with Rodwell also coming through, for another season at least.

All Jo need do tomorrow is score and play an integral part in an Everton win.
Not too much to ask is it? :P

I want him to succeed as a blue. However, being in a position to buy him is another ball game all together.

I think the boys have taken to him, despite hot and cold performances so far.

That's the feeling I get, mate. It's a good signifier of that the spirit at the club is high. Imagine coming from the shark-infested waters of City to the tranquility of Everton. Must be bliss.

seen on skysports news that Moyes says we can't afford him. Jo himself could probably pay 1/2 his own fee though, the players are richer than the clubs sometimes. City could easily afford to let him go for next to nothing though, but will no doubt try to get someone off us. give 'em shandy.

A bit of brinkmanship i think by Moyes.

I dont think he will be at Goodison next season.

Looks like he'll be heading back to City at the end of his loan. Shame really, as I'm starting to like the lad. Agree with Moyes though that he's too expensive for us and we do have more pressing needs to look at. Do hope we'll be able to bring another striker in though.

Maybe Moyes is playing games with City, preparing them for a low bid? Anyway, I'll miss him when he goes, but we do need to address other positions before bringing in a striker.
