In fairness I thought he'd be a good signing with "slightly high" wages but if the lad is asking for £150k - £180k having been deemed not good enough for a top 6 club then he really is delusional. No value in a deal like that for any team, same thing to go away and get a 22 for £20m on £60k and then have something to sell 3 years in at the very least. Tarkowski had a bit of leverage because he knew wherever he'd go he'd be at a better side than Burnley and would be a starter for the likes of us but also would've been looked at as a good squad player for the bigger teams, Lingard is unquestionably gonna end up worse than at United so I don't understand how he can inflate his demands like that as his age.

To be honest Lingard has done nothing in his career to suggest any club would pay the wages he’s demanding. Don’t know what planet his agent is on?
You are exactly right. Apart from his brief spell at WHU his offerings have been pretty dismal.

2021/22

16 league appearances for Manchester United, scoring two goals with zero assists

2020/21

16 league appearances for West Ham United, scoring nine goals with five assists

2019/20

22 league appearances for Manchester United, scoring one goal with zero assists

2018/19

27 league appearances for Manchester United, scoring four goals with three assists

One is, statiscally at least, one of the most consistent in his position in the league and has performed at a good level for about 5 years, the other has never held down his plrace in any team for more than a few months.
Gray didnt hold down a place in a team more than a few months do you like him?
