He's been "fit" for a while now and not been given any opportunities. Do we think the club just want to cut their losses because of his injuries and possible lifestyle choices hence not playing him?

With Moyes if a signing didn't work out we normally sold them off and recouped what we could. I think of selling Beattie for £4 million after paying £6.5. Done and dusted and you hvae money back.
Even Kroldrup (whom many consider to be one of our worst ever signings) was sold for decent money

The negotiation skills at the club have seemingly worsened progressively since then

A few reasons I think mate

Moyes was good at evaluating if a player had a future pretty fast so ones who didn't he usually bombed out quickly before their reputation had been wrecked by 2-4 seasons of looking woeful (he didn't always though, Shsndy Andy being one and couldn't get shut of Yobo for years either) with the latter two it was more of what we have now, we'd stuck both on for at that time really big contracts VdM to get him to sign and Yobo to get him to extend when there was a lot if interest from I think Chelsea and Arsenal.

The ones were struggling to move are all on huge contracts - and either through age, injury record or just being pants for years, nobody is taking them unless they are on a free, a subsidized loan or we get very very lucky (say Allan back to Italy)

Gbamin has been very unlucky with injuries of course, but, there have been too many reports of him drinking, partying and drink driving for them all to have been untrue, even in his loan spell in Russia, there were reports of him keeping late nights in Russian night clubs. While I have sympathy for him with regards to his injuries, he was never going to cut it here with his alleged lifestyle.

If the rumours are true, Lampard and his team must be delighted to get him out of Finch Farm.

The rumours of his nightlife in Russia are true mate, and about the company he was keeping there too.

In fairness if my body was broken ruining my dreams of being a footballer in my early 20s and someone was paying me a massive wedge each week and farmed me off to Russia I’d probably be on the ale as well in as many Moscow nightclubs as I could be

Has he? He hasn't refused to play. He's not a Rodwell, Delph or James who claimed multiple niggles. He has suffered terrible bad luck with injuries that have severely damaged his career. That's not stealing a living.
I’d have to disagree. He’s been paid to much money for very little, in fact close to nothing in return.

There are a couple of additional points too.

1) We now pay much bigger wages than under Moyes, where we were far tighter in controls.

2) The PL now also pays a lot more money, than 15 years ago compared to the rest of Europe.

Outside of 3-4 teams in each league, nobody can match wages of big standard PL teams in our league. And given we overpay, the majority of teams just cant afford them.

In relative terms, under Moyes we probably paid Gbamin 20-30k pw. So there were a lot of options. Now, we are very limited.
