2025/26 Jarrad Branthwaite

Agree, need to get in a good competent CB this summer as Branths (as good a CB as you could get) body cannot take it. I would cash in when up and running again as it seems another break down will be just around the corner.
Really sad to say because he's so good and seems like a good egg but you're right. For him and us I think it might be best. If we're honest, we don't have a great record of keeping players fit for whatever reason, and for some as injury prone as him, it just makes sense to try elsewhere. He'd probably be best going to Spain or something - warmer weather, less games and less intensity.

Not sure why he didn’t pass the ball back to Pickford which seemed the obvious pass

He tried too much and seems like he then got injured because of it

If he had just passed back to Pickford he wouldn’t have got injured
There is no correlation between a decision of passes and getting injured, what on earth are you talking about

That’s like saying every football player dodges certain injury to their hamstring every time they make the risky medical decision to slide to the ground, extend their leg out, and exposing their hamstring to rupture.

Branthwaite’s final straw was the extra move but he didn’t do anything crazy. He’s just unfortunately prone to that type of injury. It happens. He didn’t do anything foolish.

The only thing he did unwise was probably rush his treatment of a major injury and surgery to then compete at this highest of levels for 90’.

Athletes are stronger than most but anatomy and healing is fairly consistent among us humans.

Plus he's what 6"5 or 6"6. He probably marks the 2nd Liverpool goalscorer from the corner so it wouldn't have happened.
Yeah I thought our best defensive headers from corners for the first hour were from Branth and Beto, they’re the only ones who don’t grapple, just outjump the opposition. Both going off thru injury was massive, especially when the subs were so poor and we no longer had any threat in attack.

Yep. Killed us in both boxes that. Barry is 6ft 5 and I don’t think I’ve ever seen him win a header in either box.
