2025/26 Jarrad Branthwaite

I'd rather we were cautious with him. If he does his hamstring again, that's him out for the rest of the season and probably for pre-season training at least. It also would affect his value should we ever want to sell him.

Sure, European football is a possibility, but it's a massive long-shot bearing in mind the games we have left, and the ability of our squad. This season has turned out much better than any of us expected, even if we do end up mid-table. We need to start re-building our first team around Pickford, Branthwaite, KDH, Garner, Ndiaye and maybe Grealish over the summer, and see what we can do next season.

To be realistic, we currently have nowhere near the resources necessary to compete in Europe and at the same time avoid a relegation fight, so we'd have to spend the summer getting in numbers rather than quality if we were to qualify this year.

Shame we weren't as cautious with KDH's hamstring
I think that's unfair because you're making that assessment with the benefit of hindsight. We have no idea how often players feel tweaks in a warm up, play anyway and are completely fine. I'd imagine it happens all the time. Players are rarely 100% fit and are always carrying niggles. If we dropped someone every time they felt a niggle we would hardly ever play our full strength team.

bould reporting hes available for arsenal but they need to manage his minutes

this ones a bit of a free hit and we will be camped on our penalty area most likely. just bring keane in for this and then have jarrad fit and healthy for chelsea

Europe gone if he’s not playing it’s that simple really. Will still scrap away points but the home games we have left with the Keane and Tarks combo spell disaster for us. They just can’t play together in home games.
Honestly, I think it was gone over December and January with the failures to beat Burnley away, Wolves at home, Leeds, Bournemouth and Brentford. We'd need to be beating, say, an Arsenal or winning the derby now to really make up for those dropped points and the needless home defeat to United.

Yeah, we are very much still in the race, but only in the way a 400m runner is when they appear to be ahead before the big unwind.
