January Transfer Window 2026

View attachment 340570

This is pathetic if true. They wheel out the 'difficult market' crap all the time. And you know what will happen in the summer? We'll get told it's a difficult or slow market because of the world cup. Then we'll get told that players don't want to sign for us because we're not in Europe. Then we'll get told the following January that there is no value in it.

Repeat ad nauseam.

That article is waffle anyway mate so I wouldn’t stress, PSR is scrapped at the end of 25/26 financial year.

0 need or reason to “bank PSR headroom” for the summer.

They are all right wingers and none wanted to join us. Given our league and cup positions, I’d be amazed if that’s changed, plus they are probably all unavailable for the reasons you’ve said.

Back to plan e,f and g
Fofana primarily a left winger tbf, and is supposed to be back fit this month. Ndiaye going back on the left also an option if we sign someone that plays on the right.

Let's see what happens, bit of a crossroads that will decide the rest of our season realistically. Europe is attainable with our best squad available but if Grealish is taken out of that equation he needs to be replaced for us to be in with a shot.

Agreed. Can’t have the squad more depleted, even if we get 3-4 back.

Obviously things can change, but listening to updates from the Bobble, I'm not feeling optimistic.

The club haven't even had discussions as to whether or not they will send Grealish back to City, apparently. Yet they think he will be out for at least 3 months before he's back training.
Hopefully is the club waiting for confirmation, honestly just looks like we go with what we have the rest of the season.

I suspect it is just the journalist's phrasing re PSR. It's been out there for a while that there is money but we don't believe there is any value in January and it's better to save it for the summer.

Think he’s talking through his back side mate. When it moves to SCR doesn’t matter what we do this year has no bearing on next year.

Cash flow wise, I’d be surprised if we struggling in that score, given all the recent investment.

Yeah, I don't think there's any issue either. That’s what I'm annoyed about. I reckon the club is just being cheap again and making excuses.
