January Transfer Window 2026

This is pathetic if true. They wheel out the 'difficult market' crap all the time. And you know what will happen in the summer? We'll get told it's a difficult or slow market because of the world cup. Then we'll get told that players don't want to sign for us because we're not in Europe. Then we'll get told the following January that there is no value in it.

Repeat ad nauseam.

It would be good if someome
Of here could break down what the difference could be from a spending point of view in the summer if we qualify for Europe or don’t. As the new SCR is 85% not in Europe and 70% if you’re
Not being in Europe may hinder us on the players we want, but we’d have more money to spend .

Lack of ambition. There will be more excuses when the summer comes around as well.

Gross misconduct if true.

More points this season means more prize money (£3m per PL place) and outside chance of European football.

If we sign players in January it reduces the challenge of signing lots of players in one window which is challenging as last year proved.

The market may be difficult but plenty of clubs are doing business.

Is the psr rule not changing anyhow next season...so not sure how banking psr headroom now will help in the summer when the rules are changing and will become a percentage of turnover rather than the 3 year rule

Can anyone get the full article of that Douglas article. I'm able to read bits and bits are behind a paywall. Says that 5 Jan targets have fallen through. The bits that I can read seems more 'we'll go with what we've got.' But I want to read rhe while thing.

That doesn't make sense although we have to mindful of PSR this window despite having some room to operate I thought the premier league was phasing out PSR for a different set of financial rules? If true it's frustrating but let's not unravel just because of one story.
