January Transfer Window 2026

Anyone fancy doing a one paragraph summary of the Youssef thread? I really dont fancy reading 25 pages...
Player might be coming in on loan with the option to buy . Quoted 20 million . Somebody has asked an AI which 10 players in the world are like Youssef and 2 of them we already have .

He had some decent numbers in La Liga and is doing okay in Turkey . Confusion on why the club want to get shot of him.

Some members think it's a waste of money even though it's a loan . Others ( rightly in my opinion) think a RB is more important.

There seems to be a split opinion whether we should be buying Youssef , Callum Wilson or nobody at all .

Think that's it . Rest of the discussion is of no consequence 😛

only 41 games his season at least its 1 more than Man Ure so if Moyes stays on another year we then have to possibly wait 2-3 seasons for European football not exactly what i thought the new owners would be expecting
I was talking about next season being the problem because we would have to play over 50 games if we were in that plastic competition, I don’t know what the new owners were expecting from Moyes, they were happy for Dyche to stay on so that makes you wonder what they have in mind for our club right now!

Im definitely in the minority but id take Callum Wilson. Knows how to lead the line in the premier league and knows where the big white thing with a net attached to it is. I know injuries are a problem but he’s played 17 times this season. Wouldn’t be the worst idea on a short term deal.
Would be our best finisher by a mile. If can keep him fit by having 3 strikers able to rotate, then I’m not against it.

Signing a player on loan with an option, to replace a sale of Beto would be smart.

Signing a right back to replace Patterson who can then be sold would be smart.

Replacing McNeil with Aznou and then selling McNeil would be smart.

Is Moyes smart?

All 3 are pretty straightforward deals.
So Moyes isn’t smart if he can’t sell (even though it’s not his job too) 3 players nobody wants.

Stay off the drugs

We all know what happens if we sign Wilson and sell Beto, right?

Beto goes last day of the window, next morning Wilson trips on the steps up to the pitch at Finch Farm (you know the ones where the film the players coming out of the building) and injures himself for the rest of the season.

Barry is our only fit striker.

We play Ili there instead in that case, or Keano

Yeah. Getting the Moroccan guy on loan and selling Beto works but Wilson would have to be in addition to the other two due to his injury record. You'd probably only want him on a 6 month contract too.
