January Transfer Window 2026

It does make me laugh that we are on the bones of our arse for player availability and when we play Villa at the weekend, who have a brilliant squad and are absolutely flying, they are likely going to have another excellent player added to their ranks.

Meanwhile, at Everton . . .

Sounds like it could potentially be being funded by Roma buying Malen off them as well!

I'd send him on loan now tbh mate, to try and salvage the investment we have made
As soon as Illy is back, he'll be behind him and Mcneil and wouldn't be surprised if Moyes would rather use Alcaraz on the right.

Try and get him some minutes, see what's going on with him and if it really is just confidence and pressure of price tag getting to him. I'd try and ensure though that it's a club based in the Northwest and not back to somewhere like Southampton as that would be the easy thing to do.
100%, the sooner the better.
Have big hopes for the lad w the club but needs to do a big overhaul on himself, mentally, physically and find the joy again. Everton is probably not that place right now.

It is unusual, but I'm including last year as appalling quality. That Liverpool team is level with Leicester as the weakest squad to be crowned champions in the PL era. We are entering a period, that may well be extended, of extraordinarily low quality in the PL - which is why we are seeing so many games decided by long throws etc.

But it is unusual that the league is so compressed at this stage.
It's simple if you think of it, the top sides are playing too many games so the players aren't playing at optimum level and coupled with the amount of injuries they are getting now and the fact that players aren't getting greats amount of training between matches explains why the standard isn't as good as before. Quantity over quality is the way of life now in sport in general hence why most sports are slipping in standard

I see Roma are starting to make some moves, Malen from Villa and Robinio Vaz, a striker from Marseille. Meanwhile we wait like patience on a monument.
Assuming you are comparing those two things because of common ownership: They're a couple of years into the Roma project and Roma are in with an outside sniff of the title. Strengthening makes sense if the owners' aim is to win trophies.

We're trundling along to a mid-table finish. Nothing we could do in this window will be seen as transformational, so we'll keep our powder dry until the Summer.

As always, not what I want to happen, just what will IMO.
