January Transfer Window 2026

Harrison & Lindstrom loans?hahahaha

Chermiti took a small loss on after a bad injury when all accounts said he looked good beforehand in preseason

Maupay its been stated by Bobble and others that he was not signed by Thelwell.

McNeil did a job for us paying on the drip.

Beto was zero money down and if DCL had got another injury we'd have had no forwards.

‘Took a small loss on Chermiti’ almost passed me by there Zat. Very amusing! (Given KT took him off us) Was Rangers 2nd most expensive ever signing. He might even come good, 4 years after we bizarrely signed him.

No idea why you think Thelwell is so good. Had to take a big step down from Everton and bombed so spectacularly he was booted out inside 6 months.

The guy is finished at the top level. Was out of his depth in truth.

Because he did well for Everton.

Had to sell players. Generated profit and we would bank a fortune from Ndiay and Garner to name 2.

Did well for Everton.

There is no source. The reality is nobody on the outside knows exactly what goes on with transfers.

Exactly.

Just like no one knows if Moyes turns downs recommendations .

I assume , as an experienced manager Moyes has the final say on signings but again we don't actually know that.

Everything else is just supposition

It depends on whether you believe Joyce & Boyland i suppose?

Look if you want to hang your hat on Thelwell rocking up at Real Madrid or something, then you go for it fella.

Huh? Ive never said this.

I've only ever said it was bonkers not to extend Thelwells deal and to hand all recruitment to Moyes.

Anyone who thinks Moyes should have control of recruitment should look at his signings since leaving everton.

They can also see his signings last summer.

There is of course a pattern there if anyone bothers to look.

Rather than certain posters saying they dont believe moyes made the signings.

Had a bad injury then was Dyched.

639mins in the SPL 4 goals 2 assists.

Hopefully he gets himself back on track.

Im sure there were plenty of low cost players on lists back then.

Hes basically another Cenk Tosun.
He isn't really, Cenk Tosun has scored goals everywhere he has played apart from here. Thelwell wanted Moffi but the board preferred 'pl experience' and we ended up with Maupay. It was Lampard back then and its Moyes now, its a British manager thing tbh and I do get it but its never done us any favours in the past and we have done it to death imo.

Please don't Moyes...

(To be fair he has't been 'injured' this season?)

Thelwell was average. Glad he got binned. Lasted 6 mths in a two horse race league with rangers. Should stick to the MSL
I think suggesting Thelwell was simply a passing grade DoF is fair. But I personally and holding my breath on the new structure and Moyes being any better. One view is they have pragmatically split the difference in potential and present production. But I think that may be being a bit generous or conflating our results a bit favorably to fit a narrative.

Moyes on the pitch on the whole has been a very welcomed change, but I do see worry signs with conflating his pitch management and signings already. The proclivity of favoring veteran immediacy when looked at a certain way can be justified, but I think he has really failed in bringing along some of our prospects holistically. Dibling is raw, may have bad showings but I think he’s been overtly harsh. Aznou hasn’t sniffed the pitch. And I think the way he has handled Beto Barry is at least questionable.

Those players again may just not be good enough but that barometer seems to not be quite as much applied to Myko and O’Brien who really have shockers almost weekly. We need attacking fullbacks but from how he sets up each week I’m not sure he agrees.

I just think an avoidance of errors is the MO. As a manager that’s rational as a transfer policy its not as rational. And when most rumors of transfers seem to link more on present production oppose to longterm potential I am a little worried on how this plays out.

Agreed ;)

I thought the Fabregas, Kroos, Bale and Baines did well for United.
