January Transfer Window 2026

I still see no evidence that the scouting department are suggesting and identifying the right players. It doesn't matter who the manager is until we are able to identify good players at affordable prices.

Yep. We either need to uncover some gems or we need to pay more wages to attract quality players. Probably both.

We don’t appear to have done either.

No idea why you think Thelwell is so good. Had to take a big step down from Everton and bombed so spectacularly he was booted out inside 6 months.

The guy is finished at the top level. Was out of his depth in truth.

Not a fan of Ndiaye?
Not seeing Onana at Villa?
Dont rate Garner?
Tarkowski on a free...

Ok buddy :p

There is no source. The reality is nobody on the outside knows exactly what goes on with transfers.

Boyland &/or Joyce for both.

Think ive been saying this since it happened. First the dodgy sites and then the athletic and or Joyce.

Wesley and Truffert.

Wesley and Truffert.

Now do Beto, Chermiti, Harrison, Lindstrom, Danjuma,Maupay and McNeil.

All that lacks context of course as it’s all about creating a balanced squad capable of scoring goals (which we didn’t have).

Thelwell was Meh. And if he’s actually really good then he’ll end up at a top club. (Spoiler, he won’t).

Bournemouth signed Truffert for an initial fee of around £10.1m, with add-ons potentially reaching £14.3m. It is understood they want to keep him, but interest from other clubs, including potential speculation linked to Everton via Paul Joyce's reports, has been noted in transfer rumours.

@HKContractDave posted this in the Jan 2025 transfer thread since confirmed by both Joyce & Boyland

Just read in Paddy Boyland's earlier article that along with Rennes’ Adrien Truffert, Wesley Franca (Right Back) of Flamengo was also tracked

Again, both Truffert & Wesley were in talks with Thelwell. Moyes came in and cancelled everything 12months ago apart from the loan of Alcaraz.

Harrison & Lindstrom loans?hahahaha

Chermiti took a small loss on after a bad injury when all accounts said he looked good beforehand in preseason

Maupay its been stated by Bobble and others that he was not signed by Thelwell.

McNeil did a job for us paying on the drip.

Beto was zero money down and if DCL had got another injury we'd have had no forwards.

This doesn’t mean anything, we’ll still have had to pay his transfer fee in full.

Does it say that Moyes came in and cancelled everything? Or did you make that up? Genuine question as I can’t read the article.

Look if you want to hang your hat on Thelwell rocking up at Real Madrid or something, then you go for it fella.

He was on the list though Zat so we had been watching him.

It does when you have no money for a 1st payment immediately!!! Who sells their top scorer for that?

If we had gone into the season and DCL had another injury you would have been complaining.

I remember it was after this that one or both of those 2 and possibly Bobble as well said that Moyes had cancelled the transfers.

Obviously you can see that Thelwell was in talks (as i said) with both players (as i said). Theyve since gone elsewhere for a lower fee with Truffert & a similar fee with Wesley.

I took an interest as id mentioned both players in here before the links - in the case of Truffert much earlier and Wesley maybe just before the links.

It seems clear to me that we were in talks for both through Thelwell.

Moyes came in.

Truffert signed for Bournemouth £11.4mil + £3mil add ons.

Wesley didnt move until the summer.
