Apparently strikers are now too expensive for Everton, so we have to try our luck with a couple 30 millions pounds signings and hope for the best. We also keep hearing that we are not "attractive" as a football club. Must be a hard sell with the new stadium, the history of the football club, the pl, etc...hard job...

The " not attractive" part comes from one of the recruitment specialists..Mr Moyes. After he lost out on Delap, his bubble burst and hasnt smiled since

Let's see where we stand after the next two fixtures against teams 19th and 17th.

That will be the mid point of the season, and we are currently 3 points off 6th.

Delap and Barry are both young forwards looking to cut their teeth in the Premier league.

Delap's time at Man City's academy and on loan has accelerated his development and is about a year ahead of Barry.

He is 0 from 8 this season in a good Chelsea side.

Both need time to become established and find good form.

Are we seriously comparing Delap and Barry? My problem with Barry is I have nothing to compare...a hard shot on goal? A successful dribble? A header on target? Im actually being serious...i dont remember any of that except the scuffed goal he scored. Help me out

Speaking of ruining youngsters careers: McAtee comes to mind...

I think McAtee was overly built up, not ruined.
If you watched the u21 tournament, he seriously flattered to deceive..

You might want to revisit the goal or check your eyesight as that was not a scuffed goal , his output has been disappointing but the one goal he did score was excellent, it was very well timed shot that avoided the approaching goalkeeper.

He's right about the rest though. Was a good finish but you'd expect a professional to finish chances like that, served on a plate.

This squad is under cooked. Alot will depend on the ambition on TFG are they happy to dine out on the ground on new sponsors and have us a safe team who finish 13-8th every year or do they really want to return us to top table

I mean the Arsenal defenders had the easiest half of football all season - you could see Beto added way more physicality.

Yeah but you need a lot more than that too play CF in the PL, the majority of PL level defenders are not bothered by physical players. This is where we go wrong as a club with strikers imo (not just Moyes, its a club thing imo) we seem to think just having a big man up top to get in the face and ruffle a few feathers is enough and these days its not.

The way we rate some of our strikers is almost like Stockholm syndrome at this point
