We can't attract that sort of player though, even if we made a few sales (we won't it will be loans due to the crazy wages our players are on) what player is really going to want to come to 17th place Everton? We are a basket case of a club at the moment and even if we did make sales the last thing we need is to be spending big money and big wages on an individual. We are just going to have to tread water for a while imo and any future signings need to be very carefully analysed before buying/signing to make sure they will contribute, we simply can't afford anymore 'hangers on/deadwood' Lets just hope Moshiri was on holiday for a reason the other day.
Theres plenty of examples of teams signing top notch forwards even in precarious positions e.g Ravanelli, Yeboah, Yakubu etc etc
If you have the money and name manager e.g Lampard then doors open.
But if you are disagreeing about spending "big money and big wages on an individual" then we wont agree.
Id be looking at selling a few players (and there are fees available in the market for us) and buying one top u23 forward with another coming on loan with option.
Our first 11 would be perhaps one or two players away from a very good team on paper then.
I know Amrabat and Ziyech get the headlines for Morocco, but I’ve been hugely impressed with their young midfielder Ounahi, great balance and elegance to his game and I see huge headroom in him.
An area and position we don’t necessarily need strengthening but he looks a player. Playing in France and would be getable.
I think we definitely need to look at the midfield. Onana needs to develop, Garner we need to see if he can bring his Nottm Forest game to the league, Gana looks close to done and Iwobi is...Iwobi lol
Unless something "clicks" we need an upgrade on Iwobi and a partner for Onana.
