It is though. Players sign for 'names'. Even when those names don't deserve the kudos they have attached to them. If the board would have pulled their finger out and bid for players while Lampard was still here, I bet we'd have a couple of decent players by now.

Might still be in the same league position because of Lampard's poor management, but at least we'd be left with a better squad.
