An awful lot still to learn for this lad, but he does have the raw materials - I live in Wellington and saw him starting out with the Phoenix.

A-League remains the best place for him - he looks great in that league because, with the best will in the world, 80% of the players in Australia are athletes rather than footballers and he would be found out against proper players.

To be brutally honest, the A-League is no walk up start for the PL, but the key here is "young". With our budget, developing players is the best we can hope for. He may not make it in the PL, but what have we got to lose by giving him a go?

I have been told;
* he is playing well in a poor team in serie B and is the top scorer but also has alot of assists
* sampdoria will only sell for the right money and plan on including him in their squad for next season
* this year he has fulfilled his potential and a number of italian clubs have shown an interest
* he has a big ego and finds it hard to integrate into a team ethic
