.....SSN report that Brum have confirmed they are talking with RS re £6m transfer of Butland, so it looks like that one wont be happening for us.

I wouldnt mind us putting down what ever funds we have got in Jan on this lad and paying whatever else over the years on drip cos he's going to be a top GK'r and we need someone to eventually take over Howard.

Agree but at least they have doubled it, last window it was quoted as 7million

I guess at least we're heading in the right direction then, although I don't think he'll be sold nor do I think he has a great desire to push for a move. He'll prove me wrong by slapping in a transfer request now but he seems like one of very few loyal and genuinely nice blokes left in Premier League football nowadays.

I think you are overlooking Adebayor as one of the games nice guys.

Yeah, the same SSN which reported we were in talks for Butland in January when such talks never took place. Such was the bulls**t of that story they started that one of the Everton staff actually came out and categorically said it was nonsense and bad journalism. That doesn't happen often.

Some footy agent (I missed his name) on the radio his morning said EFC are looking at making two moves this window.

He also said EFC would have a substantial increase in funds available for next summer's window. Hopefully that means CL/TV money from a top 4/5 finish or a takeover and not Fellaini money.

He probably means the increased money (estimated £20m per season extra) from the new Sky deal

If they are going to continue to run the story then surely at least put a decent valuation on his head, £15m? They taking the pi$$?

They most probably are taking the pi$$.....but then again did any of us think three or four years ago that we would ever see the day when we sold Pienaar and Arteta for a combined total of only £12 million? The problem is, we either sell our gems for next to nothing (even to the point where we got 1 million or so for Yakubu only a few months after West Ham wanted to pay six or seven for him?) or we get ridiculous money (12 or so for an injured Rodwell and 24 for Lescott). There's nothing in between so we will either sell Baines for 10 million or 30 million. 20 would be a fair price though.

However, we need to keep him and players like him if we are ever going to crack the top four.

With Arsenal on the wane and Chelski's side ageing now (even if they start buying big it will take a season for them to start gelling into a team again) now is our chance to keep the players that we have and get into the Champions League again. We might then have some revenue to be able to buy players for next season if we need to strengthen the squad.

Hmm They just spent a huge amount on a new young midfield including oscar, hazard, marin, moses, and a new right back Azpilicueta who are all under 23. The only ageing players they have are Cole, Lampard and Terry (who has barely played this year due to injury) It is our squad that is ageing, not theirs. http://www.whoscored.com/Blog/fukyh...League-Focus-Average-Premier-League-Team-Ages
