What is the story with Pato. Why does his current team want shot of him so badly and why did QPR reject him? If the answer to this is wages then surely this is a non starter. If the answer is that he is actually a terrible footballer then the same applies.

Combination of a few things apparently, bit injury prone at Milan - they got rid, bought by Corinthians who didn't actually play a out and out centre forward - so they got rid, now getting flak their too - the expectation back in Brazil must have been massive tbh given his wonderkid savior of the Brazil strikers tag he's been carrying since 19/20.

Could proove a massive hit and absolute bargain where he ends up next or more likely will just fail and be a complete washout at the age of 25-27.

By all accounts though he gets stick for not being exactly the hardest working of players, although guess Martinez would call that flamboyance and use 300 big fancy sounding words to make you think its a positive.

Loan with a fixed fee agreed thats not too steep should he rediscover his form of 2-3 years ago wouldn't exactly upset me though like

Can't believe I got negged for this! On the face of it, he's not the greatest player around, but when he plays it allows the RS freedom to play. He's not as good as McCarthy or Besic but I think he's better than barry, and he's very effective in what he does. And I'd like to see bot McCarthy and Besic play a little further forward

Any Brazilian that is regarded as having talent, enough to have been snapped up by a European powerhouse, who then goes back to Brazil before he is 30 is almost definitely more interested in Partying.

To be fair he did run his contract down and refuse to sign a new one.
plus as good as he is now, I think 18 is a bit young for an unproven player to be demanding to be in the First Team or else he's going to leave, especially at a 'Big Club' where there are people ahead of you.
I think eventually Fergie just played Fletcher & Raphael (was it?) in the midfield just to spite him because he'd already said he was off.

18 is not too young if he's good enough and since then I think he has proved that.

If he's gonna sign with us, what I doubt, it will probably the same way we got mcGeady. Let him sign a pre contract agreement and force his club to sell him to us on our terms after that.
