He literally had to spend half of his time telling the knobheads behind him to push up. As soon as we lost the ball our default is to retreat to the 18 yard line and then the midfielders do the same. Its not rocket science that if we push up 10 yards more we can squeeze higher up so when we have the ball our lone striker isn't 50 yards ahead all by himself.

It’s got be carlo who has told them to sit that deep? Surely no team sits that deep naturally

Lose more when Allan is out, and we’ve got Gomes and Sigurdsson as our midfield to help him.

Good teams have players who make things happen and engines to do the hard work. No Allan means Doucoure is doing it every week for two, and not being able to help.
Maybe look at what we’re missing to help him.

This is basically the same team who Koeman and Silva couldn’t motivate how’s James fixing that on his own?
Yes we do miss Allan, liked him a lot, gets the other players working as well, he was constantly talking to them, Doucoure as well, doing the work of two men, as you say, yes the third midfielder is missing in midfield, as for James he has good spells and looks good in them, but goes missing too often even in his good spells, I think the English premier league is too fast and definitely too tough for him, can’t see him getting any fitter or faster either, unfortunately.

I really want to see him have a good run in the team playing in the number 10 role. If we can consistently play with Allan and Doucoure behind him, Dom up top and Richy and Iwobi/King on the flanks we'll get to see the best of him. We've barely seen our strongest lineup all season. Hopefully we get a good injury free run from now till the end of the season. it'll give us a good idea how we can progress next season.

We aren’t far from having the players back which will get the most out of him.

There’s too much cry arsing going on about him, and I’m looking forward to the same crowd saying how good he is in a week or two.
Completely agree.

He is a quality, luxury player. Could you have imagined what he would have done to us if he was playing in that City team.

He hasn't been able to play in our best formation, with our best players since Liverpool/Fulham.

When we can get back to a 4-3-3 he will shine again - our fixture after Liverpool will really suit us setting up in a more attacking fashion and we will see him dominate, just as the sun comes back out.
