I'm not thinking it.To post what you are all thinking but are afraid to say.
I still don’t understand how a loan deal benefits us in the long run. You would think there is a loan fee involved, we also pay his wages,he has a great season, he becomes a free agent at the end of the loan, one of the big boys comes in, he joins them.

Can’t see a loan. Madrid would find a taker for him. They need a fee and his wages off the books.
Alan BallSurely this is the best (potential) Everton signing for a long while.
When was the last time you got excited over an Everton signing and who was it?
I think the loan we are talking about is likely to be like the one we did with Barry a loan for a year with an obligation to make a final payment made to Real at the end of loan it allows us to get round not making a larger payment in a year where FFP could be a problem and moves it into the next financial year, but signing the player on a three year deal, so that the player is also happy. What if he signs 3 years, massive wages, never plays due to injuries, we can't sell him?

....unless the player has made it clear he won’t leave on a permanent transfer. it makes sense for him to look for a Bosman with only 12 months left on his contract.
They haven't been able to find a permanent taker in years. Can’t see a loan. Madrid would find a taker for him. They need a fee and his wages off the books.
