The best sides have only one defensive midfielder. We have one and a half and although they are both good at what they do but if Barkley is off colour the team does not create enough. If, say, we had Payet and Barkley then we would be more creative and less reliant on Barkley.

We just need a bit more quality from midfield to get up alongside Lukaku and pose more threat. Plus we have to upgrade the left wing.

Don't know what people are going on about that tackle for. Was a booking at the most. One of ours got injured by a similar one at West Brom and no-one even mentioned it nevermind booked the player. Just because there's yet another loveable cockney geezer Tony Gale on the commentary who spouts his usual rubbish.

Correct - he offers very little going forward; ideally you would like to play him and Barkley in centre midfield; unfortunately Barkley offers absolutely nothing defensively hence why we need to play Barry instead of another winger.

That's absolutely untrue. Bayern plays two. Man City plays two most of the time. Manchester United plays two all the time. Chelsea played two most of the time last season. Juventus played two last season. Real Madrid plays two. The difference is that their defensive midfielders are better than ours -- which shouldn't surprise you, because their squads are better at every position.
