Could've gone for that tackle, not the same player this season. I'd be looking to upgrade in summer.

Should have been sent off.

Just needs to put a good spell of games together. Maybe the international break will clear his head.

He has been less consistent than the past two seasons but in general we are worse without him in the lineup. He has one of the best engines in the team and with Barry that is very important.

Barry had a great match and has been much better this season but I hope next year we see more of Besic in his role.

Besic and McCarthy wont work just like both Barry and McCarthy doesnt work because neither go forward. It should be one of Besic/Barkley/McCarthy with a midfielder who can attempt to pass and go forward. Ive been McCarthys biggest critic and i dont think we will get best of him until he plays defensive midfield on his own were defending covering and simple passes are all we expect

He got lucky today. I thought he played well overall. He played some great passes out to Coleman and was generally the one playing the ball out from defense. As for playing with Besic....Besic will be sold because he's not good enough

The tackle was a yellow, Gayle commentating was going overboard with his bias wanting a red. It was great to see him press the ball, he was sharper in his game and although he's not a creative player he passed the ball with conviction. The opposition midfield knew we were there today - at last! I'm convinced Payet wasn't injured just didn't fancy it.

More of the same please James, especially at home!

Just needs to do a bit more than stroke the ball around backwards or square and stand there admiring the pass.. if he could just play a pass forward then go and look for the return ... his ginger head may well be something us older ones used to see all over the pitch back then ....

Best thing he's done this season is that tackle on Payet. About time someone stuck a foot in like that, just let's the opposition know they are in a game and he died it to their most dangerous player.

Actually thought he had a really good game today. The tackle was bad, but a red would've been harsh IMO.

I also think that we've needed a bit more grit in midfield of late, so I'm happy if he's going to start showing a bit more.
