Counter intuitively he might have had a better chance of making it if they still had 22 man squads and his versatility came in to play a bit more. With a 26 man squad there's just a bit less need for that type of thinking. It's disappointing for him in the end because a couple of months ago he looked a good bet to go, I don't think it's a travesty that he's not made it personally but he's had a good season and done well to even be in the conversation.

Worrying thing about squad is all bar Toney and Pickford in niche positions have played for the PL CL teams.

Players be looking at that if Tuchal stays.

To be fair though that can massively backfire. If you try too much, and fail too much, you will never ever get another shot.

Sick for him when I see Kobbie Mainoo and Jordan Henderson in there.

Mainoo is garbage and Henderson is too old (35) and liable to a mistake now. I understand the need for experience but there's plenty of other wise heads in there.

Mainoo isn’t garbage, agree on Henderson though. Garner has been good this season but his form also fell off a cliff in April which he needed to keep on top of to break into a squad full of decent midfielders
