For the majority of his time against early expectations, but I also said he'd done really well this season.

Really liked the look of him early doors. Thought we'd signed a top talent.

Then been disappointed with him for the majority of his time here. Hadn't done enough on the ball to justify what he does off it.

Been really good this season though, perhaps benefiting from being around better players and still only 24. I hope this the standard for him now, and he improves.

Chuffed about this. Always a joy to see a player delivering on a promise of potential. Let's hope he gets to be the stalwart midfield leader he says he wants to become. Been arguably our best and most consistent player this season.

Think Moyes deserves credit for this, he’s bigged him up for England every chance he got, probably a smart move to get him to feel like he’s important and commit.

Surely Tuchel givea him the March games to impress.

Great news, been very important for us this season and stepped up while we've been depleted in midfield for the last however many weeks. Also good that, along with Branthwaite's contract last summer, it's been sorted before the inevitable media circus surrounding his future could make waves. Puts that to bed

Brilliant news. James Garner is a top player; I didn't realise he was only 24, though. The lad looks like he's been to hell and back Well done Moysie, for getting this across the line.
