Jagielka fears Fellaini will be sold if we receive a £20m+ offer

Fellaini has the ability and potential to be one of the best Defensive Mid/Box to Box players in the world. He's not too far off now.

There, I said it.

Do we really need to sell either of Felli or Baines to appease the banks and be able to squad strengthen at the same time?.

From what im seeing and hearing, the banks arent asking for sums of the likes of £10m to pay them back this summer and pushing for us to sell a top asset, they realise we would be better off keeping the likes of Felli and trying to progress as a team and finish higher in the league or win a cup in which will generate more money coming into the club which can be shared out and the bank get a decent wedge.

Surely Moyes knows he'll have to push other players on to clubs instead of your Baines' and Felli's?!. On here ive heard we could possibly sell Big Vic to Wigan for up to £4m, we want as much as £3m for Yobo so that alone could go to the banks, or atleast £5m of it which ive heard thats all the banks want from us this summer, but like i say, its not gospel, it's all ive heard from certain sites.

And then it's a matter of wheeling and dealing, trying to offload players we can live without for the sake of squad building, so why not try and offer Rodwell out to clubs for something like 8 to 10 mill?. His stock as well dropped due to lack of form and injuries but to some he's a talent and still needs nurturing but i think we can get by without him and if we could possibly sell him for as much as 8 to 10 mill, we could use that money to sign Pienaar permanently and possibly sign a few freebies to fill out the squad (Fernandes, Barnetta, Rodallega)?!.

It's all just hyperthetical and hear say but my main point is, we dont need to sell a Baines or a Felli to appease the banks!. If keeping the main core of our team, are best players but selling the likes of Anichebe, Yobo and possibly Rodwell to appease the banks but not being able to squad build after aswell then so be it.

Ah all makes sense now.

I thought it was very strange that Tim Cahill Sr was talking about Fellaini being a replacement for his son, like he would ever replace Cahill.

But he only said it cause Fellaini is getting sold so he'll just have to make do the best he can with what he's got and play Cahill off the striker forever.

Agreed.

Fellaini is going nowhere imo.

Baines is older than Fellaini, if anyone was to be sold for big money it would be him. Fellaini is the absolute core of our team at the moment.

Edit: Also, we are looking to sell Yobo for 2/3 million, and supposedly Anichebe is going to wigan for 4 million if Martinez stays? Now that's 7 million right there, that could be used to pay some to the banks and buy us Pienaar (wages wouldn't matter because there's Anichebe off the books). I think in that position we are better off, and wouldn't need to even think about selling the likes of Fellaini or Baines.

Also, I'm surprised nobodys thought about us selling Coleman to Blackpool or West Ham or something, surely could get around 6 Million for him and i've no doubt we could sign a couple better players than him with the money. (shame because I do like Coleman)

so you value you him higher then yaya toure. get a grip

defensively is sound, in front of goal is no where near good enough, he is a DM not AM when will people get there heads around this.

doesent have the intelligence, vision, shooting skills or mobility to succeed in that position.

had we bought him for 3m we would all value him at 15-18m, but seeing as we splashed out so much as him 15m has to be the bench mark which isnt right, judge him on what he offers not how much we bought him for.

Erm, you said Pienaar was going to the highest bidder and anybody who disagreed was a numpty. We all know how that worked out.

You say Yaya Toure, I say Andy Carroll. I say Torres. I say Downing.

Fellaini is an intelligent player imo, I have absolutely no doubt next season trained properly to play both the DM and AM roles we'd see him playing with some creativity. Ok he's not particularly quick, but when has that ever stopped him getting past players or all over the pitch? Fellaini is extremely mobile imo.

He's been trying some long shots recently too, and there's no doubt he can get power behind the ball but ok his shooting skills aren't great.

Raging with Jags for coming out with this tripe when I read it this morning .

Then , when you calm down a bit , look back on it and see its the daily mail , you question whether or not Jags said anything at all .

Those are the type of players sold off pretty late in the transfer window these days. Usually there's a flurry of activity when the big guns pay big cash for other team's star players and then after that there's money in the system for other 'lesser' clubs to start re-stocking and wheeling and dealing...the club's who'd buy our Vic for example. IMO, Moyes will be looking to get a *spectacular* done post Euros and sell one of the jewels in the crown to start building sooner rather than later (after, of course, the debt interest payments are met for this year).

We just cant build anything at this club. It's impossible to do it. Which is why I know when Moyes says he's ambitious he's just taking the piss and pocketting his enormous salary.

"Fellaini isn't good enough", put down the glue! He's easily our best player.

If he isn't good enough why is he linked to Chelsea who are buying class players left right and centre.

ancelotti was interested in him back when he was manager, none of the rest want him and why would they Ramires is coming through as a box to box midfielder and essien is returning to full fitness

you keep on waiting for pienaar to come for 2m then
oh and what happened to adebayor joining spurs,

I never once said we'd get Pienaar for £2m, or that Adebayor would go to Spurs, you absolute mentalist.

You on the other hand insisted that we wouldn't get Pienaar unless we were the winner of a bidding war, despite every shred of ITK evidence being to the contrary, including a direct quote from Redknapp himself.

But whatever. Fellaini isn't worth £26m, because Yaya Toure was bought for £24m. What you fail to take into account is that Toure had one season left on his contract when he went to City, and Barcelona didn't actually want to keep him.

Guess how many years Fellaini has left ? (It isn't one)

Then there's also the fact that Fellaini is 24 and Toure was 27.

But go ahead, just ignore all of that to try and prove a point.
