Interesting comments. I agree in taking one 'wild card' player, a young lad with no fear can have an impact on a game. I'm not sure that Jack will be that player, Capello was reminded about him rather than naming Jack himself. Still by the end of the season Jack could be a cert. As chicoazul said Good luck to the lad.

Yeah, that's what I read. But he likes that Gibbs lad....even though he's never gonna get a chance ahead of one of the best left backs in the world, Clichy, and when he does he ****s up (see Champions League last season).

Capello admitted that the likes of Arsenal's Kieran Gibbs "has to play" to make his line-up but did not rule out Everton's Jack Rodwell when prompted.

No he didn't.

Nor did he make any suggestion that he would go.

His, "I will only pick players who are playing well" thing is bull. It's still the same old players going.

The only way I'd want an Everton player going is if there were two of them (Jags and Rodders)-Safety in numbers

Yeah, a few sports writers have put Rodders up as a surprise addition.

Phil McNulty (I think) reckons he's got a chance but maybe a bit too inexperienced to influence a game at his age but will probably be a key feature by the next world cup.

Rodders is pretty much 1st team due to our injuries at the moment. He's only going to get better.

A fair few are saying arle Jags is could be pretty on his way too if he gets fit and back on form swift. Especially now that Lescott having a bit of a dip in form.

Im also a bit miffed when they talk about the left back cover. Ashley Cole's gonna go, but they're saying Wayne Bridge's place could be up...and they talk about Kieren Gibbs. Erm...Leighton Baines anyone? He's not even getting a mention.

good point, surely baines has atleast earned the right to be considered

If Capello's going to take a risk on a young inexperienced player, it may well be Rodwell. The other Jack (Wilshere) Might be a good option but he's way behind our Jack on first team experience.
Can't see why Baines isn't ahead of the field as cover for Cashly.

I'm not too sure about Baines going but I honestly believe that Rodwell is in with a huge shout...................Walcott went to the last one so why not Jack this time round. Back in the sixties Sir Alf Ramsey took a chance on a young player few rated.............a certain Alan Ball...............enough said Jack is that good

or better known in blue circles as jack GODwell,it's times like this i envy what everton can do with the youngsters,we just have it i suppose.:dancing:

Rodwell and Wilshere is going to be a fine Centre Midfield pair in a few years. That Wilshere reminds me of Rooney (the Rooney of his position, I mean)
