You leave Stockport be, they, why, they nearly put us out the FA cup when we were holders if I remember.

Who else was there when ebbrell came bursting through in the last minute like a constipated elephant, almost went over with the advertising hoardings.

Oh now you turn the thread silly.

It has been so serious up to now.

(Did kinda make me snigger a bit though, fantastic mind images created)

Welcome to GoT, home of the "sensitive" Evertonians.

Don't have the energy to read 11 pages of posts (all from today - an Everton win gets the good wishes flowing, eh) but let's not anoint young Rodwell with the scented oil just yet.

He's easily a special player and his potential is amazing. Would love to see him eased in and kept kind of under wraps like but Arteta's absence forces Moyes hand.

Just don't want Rodwell to think his crap doesn't stink before he actually smells it for himself.

All you posting that Rodwell is on the way out - drop it like a bad habit. Might prove true but don't spoil my high for a day or two - great stuff today.

I really, really like the way his mind works. Maybe it's instinct but he can make the simple passes that take the play forward. Usually only those guys who make the difficult passes gets noticed but sometimes a five yard pass can be as influential. Rodwell seems to have a knack of passing the ball to the player with most potential to make use of it rather than just giving it to someone in random. Yesterday, again, he kept giving the ball to team mates who had more options than just passing it back.

This is one major advantage he has over players like Neville. And this is what your defensive mid should do in addition to protecting the back four. That's what the best guys in the world in this position do, in fact. Once Rodwell improves on cutting off opposition attacks he will already be a top, top player. Now he is "just" good, which is amazing for an 18-year old playing in the Premier League.

At this point I think Moyes persists with his 'Rodwell is a center back' line to dull press talk of us having the new Steven Gerrard breaking into our team - the Mail called him 'Frank Lampard's natural successor' after he scored against Germany in the U21 Euros in the summer.

That kind of hype won't help Rodwell or the club, Moyes is just being smart about it.

Lampard's successor my arse. He's Lampard AND Gerrard

(You can quote me on this - I've been saying it since he came into the side last pre-season)

And we should thank a certain Mr. Lescott for giving Jack his starting place. His performance against Sigma showed us all we know .. he can shoot too!
