2025/26 Jack Grealish

As good as he was earlier into the season, it always felt like signing him was jumping steps in squad development. This should have been the year to really elevate and maximize Ndiaye with supporting talent to foster what he is good at. A real improvement and investment in both full back areas to let him attack whatever area on the pitch he wants.

Good post. I like him too. But the obsession with signing him at any cost on here is nuts.

There's no rush. City are desperate to get shut and no other side is paying the wages we've been paying - not even close.

I just can't remember the games this season where I've thought 'yeah got to keep him'.

But then again Pep did ruin him 🙄

I think he lost interest here well before he got the injury.

He never lost interest in the club, he just looked frustrated at the quality around him.
always having to look for KDH or Garner which meant he had to keep turning back, holding the ball for longer beacause his other options were Myko or Barry.

As always said, you give Jack players on his wavelength and you would see him step up another level and quicker speed in decision making.
It would also help if we had more than 1 player in and around the box for him to look for.

You can't go into another season providing Jack with Myko and Barry as outlets.
The same goes with Illy, don't provide him with O'Brien and Barry.

If we can get a good deal and he's one of a few players of quality through the door, with other key positions addressed also, then I'm for it.

If most of our budget is spent on him and other areas are neglected or are not improved dramatically then I would rather spend elsewhere.

We may even wait until late in the window to try and get him

Then the issue is spending; and I dont see us spending what we did last summer without sales.

Those who desperately want him signed KNOW

I think he was found out for pace and ideas way before he was injured. He looked despondent on the pitch too.

Only Evertonians can see a player like this and believe breaking the bank to get them is the way forward.

Someone like Iraola would refuse Grealish and go for two young direct and pacy players instead for the same price.

Why don't we just make a break with the past here and stop being sentimental and get real for once.

Those who desperately want him signed KNOW he'll break down within 6 months too.
Iraola would have been the manager to properly develop the likes of Dibling and George

then again, dont think he would have paid that much to sign Dibling either

No way should we sign him. If anything we've looked better without him. It would be a colossal waste of money to spend it on his wages, and we need that money to buy a striker, another midfielder etc

I thought he did well but if you factor in his age and that he's on the decline together with a big injury then we should tread carefully.

a bone injury should be fine to 100% fully recover from. Many ligament/tendon injuries are 100% mendable these days. Muscle injuries, especially to big muscle groups (quads/hammies) are a different kettle of badgers, scar tissue and muscle shortening can limit recovery. Jack will be fine. JB is a bigger concern if his two hammy injuries are linked
