2025/26 Jack Grealish

We can agree to disagree!

Look at some of the most expensively curated teams that won nothing. Look at Pep, with always the highest value squads - is he over-rated?

I certainly understand your argument, I’m not sure too many would agree. Vive la difference!
Yes Pep is even more overrated than Carlo. Yes it's all about opinions of course, I've never been someone who gets caught up in hype or gets overly impressed. I just think winning Champions Leagues at Real Madrid is par for the course as even Zidane managed that

Its been done time and time again , we were flying under Carlo until injuries and suspensions at the very end of the season.
But a good blue would know this.

And yet you would turn your back on the most decorated manager in hisory.

You stick to your Raffa love in .
Nah Carlo had us playing the most negative football with Holgate and Godfrey at full back. Losing at home to some truly awful sides like an already relegated Sheff Utd. Not giving Gordon game time. Saddling us with Allan who was rubbish.

Right.... and you've come to that conclusion based on? For the record Benitez was an abomination who I emailed the club about to say don't employ (like they'd listen to me 😂) Townsend was actually decent especially for a free. Carlo was and is overrated. And James was a highlight reel player who's commitment to the cause was questionable to say the least. Ultimately none of the above took us anywhere towards success so none should be put on a pedestal which is what you seem to be doing with 'Don' Carlo and James
Apologies Marcus that was meant for another poster.
Townsend really did ok for for us too btw.

Anyways on topic
Jack Grealish , hope a deal is done for him to stay. He's a quality player and a really good fit for this side.

A wage 'drop' ?
How much though?
10, 20, 30%?

40%

Sounds a lot, looks good

But that's still...if you can believe the City figure of £350,000...

£210,000 a 'kin week! (Maths is not my strong point but you get the idea)

Which makes him 'worth' 4 times as much / week as our Real best player Ndaiye - gtf.

We're getting deep into Patsy Cline Territory here (google it)
And you're further telling me that a Club that baulked at paying one player £140,000 is going to drive a horse and cart through their whole wage structure
and pay a soon to be 31 year old player a 4 year contract worth...

£43,000,000 Million!

Then pay City £20,000,000+ for the privilege ffs

its not our fault, or job to remedy the fact, that City were daft enough to pay him an alleged £350,000 a 'kin week

Another 1 year loan at the best terms we can screw them down to...they're the ones who want him gone - or Do One

and I wouldnt cry too much if he, or they, picked the 'Do One' option

he will sign mate.

Until we know the details of cost, Purchase/wages.
All of the above means nothing, it's just a lot of guess work.

The only way I can see us paying him that much higher than our top earners would be if we loaned him again and gave him a big signing on bonus at the end of City contract.

Either way, these conversations will have been held behind the scenes, Jack will know what the club can offer and he seems a pretty happy lad, he wont head to Saudi leagues and he isn't stupid, He knows his stock isn't that high anymore..

Its in the ballpark - feel free to vault me

Doesn't score enough goals and the wrong end of his 30,s.

We should get him but for me those 2 facts need to reflect his wages.
He gets assists though which are just as important as goals. I was sceptical when we brought him in on loan but his impact on and off the pitch means we should try and bring him in permanently especially if we're in Europe. As much as I like bringing in younger players you need the right balance with experience and youth and he also gives us more attraction for other players to want to join us especially if we keep on an upwards trajectory
