2025/26 Jack Grealish

we were linked with ben doak and omari hutchison before we signed grealish

yes we will be in a better position to attract better talent of those two mentioned this summer, but still

jack grealish’s performance vs villa at home is probably the best anyone has looked in an everton shirt since rooney v bolton

literally every time he got the ball we ended up with a legitimate chance of scoring and the sense of expectation in the crowd was staggering

I like how now we are debating as to whether we should sign a good player because we would have too many.

That will never happen. I dream of a day when a player like Grealish rides the bench because hes not good enough.

This is a fair point.

But dont you think that having Ndiaye (who is a better left sided player) but Grealish playing there over him...

...means were not going to see the best from our star attacking player?

What if, instead of signing Grealish we signed his equivalent clone who played in a different position that we actually need a starter in?

Wouldnt that be better? Otherwise it may be a 4th window under Moyes where we have gaping holes in the 11.

im not sure ‘better’ there than Grealish is how I’d describe him, it’s certainly his best position though.
IMO the thing with Grealish is he won’t score as many goals as Skiliman would / does from the left. However I do think Grealish gets more fouls / FKs there and would have more goal involvements if our strikers weren’t so cack.
So for me, Skiliman is more productive than Grealish there, but not necessarily better if that makes sense. Semantics maybe, but Grealish was very good but a little let down in the final ⅓ (imo)

Sure mate if you want to use "more productive" rather than best :)

Point still stands of course, what do you reckon?

I always thought Grealish would move central as he reached this point in his career, like David and Bernardo Silva did.

I thought he'd have been given time there this season in games but Moyes seems to want to pick 11 players in August and have them in fixed positions all season unless its impossible.

Seems better to have him as a 10 with KDH partnering Garner.

To me the issue is "equivalent" players are only equivalent on paper.

We spent 87m this last summer on players who cant get more gametime than Grealish and clearly arent as good. We all know by now that summer transfer threads are fun, but the reality is always far different. I personally think Ndiaye should be tried some in the middle anyway, but regardless I highly doubt we will come to any point in the next couple of years where we go "man, our team and our bench wingers are so incredibly good that Grealish is holding us back".
