I have heard the rumors about a loan for next year as well. Not sure that makes more sense to City than selling him, but just depends on other clubs interest, and Jacks willingness to go elsewhere.

Personally, I think a loan would be ideal for us(then lock him up longer term), but even 20-25m would be a no brainer. A. He was on pace for 15 goal involvements and would surely have more with a real striker, and B. He elevates the club in the eyes of other potential transfers. If owners want to make money, you also need big names to sell tickets and merchandise, and he does that at a low cost to us. Do you want to sponsor us having Patterson in your advert, or Grealish?

Otherwise he can just sit on his very expensive contract at City and they won't want that.

If we had other attack minded players perhaps Jack wouldn't be holding the ball up so much. An overlapping full back to compliment would be a starting point.

Even if that isn't the case, people shouldn't underestimate the value of experience, been there and done that, to help settle the team too. Especially if we do get into Europe. In the big games to win the free kicks, keep possession and slow the game to our tempo, every side needs a talisman.

He's got another two years at the top (at least) and it's rare for us to have players of that quality, if he wants to stay and the money isn't a deal breaker, we should be trying to keep him.

Yep and let's be honest, his goal return is absolute pants. Let's get some pace and goal scoring on the flanks not a past his best aging wide player.

Club injected 40+m for the womens shares, and can spend that prior to August 1st, as well as the revenue for this season is going to be way more than the prior one. We need 4 wingers anyway, not sure where you think we would get a starter for less than 25-30m to replace Jack.

Shame palace pulled out of the obligatory 20 mil deal for McNeil, would’ve paid for Grealish essentially or George

I wouldn’t worry about him hitting 30 and his legs suddenly falling off. He has never been a very fast player, £30m is a decent price for a player of this level, and if we get him for less then so be it.
