I think we get him in the summer for a lot less than the numbers being banded about. We didn't get in a bidding war last summer so no obvious reason why we would this time (maybe Villa or Newcastle, dont think Saudi is an option).

Maybe pay off his City contract then stick him on a longer term lower wage one with us.

It's either Tyreek or Jack. The club has to buy merlin plus 2 full backs, a replacement for Beto and that no.10 from Forest. Not enough PSR to go round.

I dont think there is any chance we buy him. Had he scored more goals the. Yes, nailed on. But his goal output, indeed his seeming terror of having a shot on goal, have scuppered any chance of a permanent deal, particularly after that bad injury.

A shame as I really like the lad, but for the wedge he’d be on, we absolutely have to have goals along with the assists.

I’d sign just for his standards and winners mentality - a massive positive influence over the young lads in our squad, and on his day can still be a world class game changer.

Really hope the surgery went well and he recovers fast. I’d love to see him in the royal blue jersey again.

A second loan to see out his contract has always been the obvious strategy for both sides. At the end of the second loan he would be 32 with a world of Saudi ahead of him for 3 years. The only negotiation will be his pay next season and how much city will cover..

Loan fee plus wages for a year
vs
Purchase fee plus renegotiated (lower) wages for 1-2 years, with a potential to recoup a fee in 1-2 years
