2025/26 Jack Grealish

Jacks looking alright for someone whose leg fell off yesterday.

Hasn't influenced as much in an attacking sense, I agree. You can see his frustration during games. But when we're holding on to a lead (Villa for example) he can hold the ball and draw fouls like no other player we have. That side of him will be sorely missed.
Think we can cover that part having players who can compete and close down until the last minute. Think it was Armstrong who clattered a Villa player in virtually the last seconds of the game. Time for the midfield to step up the intensity.

Ideally we'd have both. Closing down and making it difficult for the opposition is important, but it's better if we can keep the ball once we have it. Grealish is better than anyone else at this. Our defence, plus Pickford, and Barry/Beto are atrocious for it.

...and you see where the injudicious use of him has got us: a player we paid a large loan deal for who we've had 20 games out of and no more than that.

Wouldn't it have been a far better strategy to play Grealish and then rest him every 3 games or so?....or have him come off the bench and limit game time that way?

This is a self-inflicted wound. There's not getting away from it.
So we have Keane suspended, Alcarez injured, Branthwaite injured, KDH injured , Gana and Ndiaye at ANC and we have the luxury to rest a 200k a week player?
Really?

It would be ideal,no concrete news yet about the extent of the injury, but his Insta post didn't look too hopeful. Time for a few of them to step up.
