King did generally speak favourably of Israel, although in the passage that sentence is quoted from, he also speaks of the need for the Arabs (Palestinians) to have security as well. He also repeated the zionist nonsense about "making the desert bloom".

It was also 60 odd years ago. Who knows what he'd think now, given the course of history.
