The response from Israel to October the 7th hasn't been a response which is that of retaliation, it's been the response of an apartheid state which wanted an excuse like October the 7th to commit genocide against a group of people and widespread atrocities against them. This isn't a case of Israel against Islamist terrorist organisations, this is a case of Israel against groups of people, whether they are Muslim, Christian or other, in a position of ethnic cleansing.

They haven't discriminated in terms of targeting only Islamist groups, they have set an agenda from day one that they want to wipe out Palestinians and now they have moved further because the western world and their governments have enabled them to in the most abhorrent, cowardly way.

Israel's total casualty count stands at 1,410, with 1,139 lives lost in the October 7 attacks alone. The events of October 7th were war crimes of immense scale, and at that time, Israel had every right to defend itself.
Where our opinions differ is that I believe the scale and prolongment of the bombings in Gaza is wrong. Too many people have died, many of them children. Some Israelis and others justify this by claiming that "there are no civilians" in Gaza, with the disturbing mindset that one dead baby is one less potential Hamas member. I believe that's their perspective.
