Current Affairs Israel is an apartheid state

Let me make one thing clear, i condemn Israel for being reckless and over zealous in their rightful defence of their people and country.

I will not however condemn Israel or the IDF for genocide because i do not believe that be so. I want the people of both Israel and Palestine to live in peace and harmony.

the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group.

That’s the definition of genocide. What do you believe is happening in Gaza right now if not genocide?

Corky,

I pray for the scales to fall from your eyes that they may be opened.

There are many faithful Jews around the world who are disgusted at what the Israeli Government is doing, particularly when it has the brass neck to quote sacred Scripture to justify its genocide.

Hopefully 'Not in my Name' eventually succeeds in ridding the Holy Land of this bestial regime and the peacemakers from the Palestinian and Jewish people can emerge to work out an agreeable and peaceful solution.

This is what the Lord says: "Do what is just and right. Rescue from the hand of the oppressor the one who has been robbed. Do no wrong or violence to the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place." Jeremiah 22:3 (NIV).

From Deuteronomy, one of the five books of the Torah - the basis of Jewish Law:
'In this way innocent blood will not be shed in the land YHWH your God gives you' Deuteronomy 19:10 (Jerusalem Translation)

'cursed be he that taketh reward to take an innocent life' Deut. 27:25 -
Something for the IDF and Hawkish Israeli politicians to consider.

I could go on, but what that regime and the IDF has done is criminal under International Law, and a grave sin under Hebrew Law.

Justice will eventually prevail, but at what cost to tens of thousands of dead, injured and homeless?

Mate they graciously handed Gaza back to the Palestinians. What was the thanks for it?

Elect Hamas into government. That was the thanks. That's the sort of people we're dealing with here.
Hamas were elected because people were tired of the corrupt and sclerotic PA doing little more than acting as Israel's policeman. They did a lot of work within Gaza at the time to make themselves popular, providing food, education, housing etc. The stuff people need. They were also seen as being responsible for getting the Israeli settlements out of Gaza.

Israel didn't hand back Gaza "graciously" as a favour to the Palestinians. Sharon did it unilaterally, because it was proving costly and unpopular trying to hang on to the Gaza settlements, because he thought it would give Israel more chance of keeping the West Bank, and to sever Palestinian unity between the West Bank and Gaza. He was warned what the result of unilateral disengagement as opposed to a negotiated withdrawal would be, and here we are.

I fear for all of Palestine if Trump wins with Vance. They'd most likely go for Iran too.

I doubt it. Trump is many things but he already recognises that “helping Israel” to an unprecedented extent (ie: Netanyahu) got him nothing, and he’s watching Biden spend a lot of political credit in exchange for even less.

If Trump wins, I’d expect the Israeli government will be much more of a client regime than it has been previously. They’d be utterly dependent on US support and he’d flex that on them.

I don't see it that way, especially now with Vance seemingly supporting a strong US-Israel relationship. From what I have seen, his position is that Israel is essential to protecting US interests in the Middle East. As for Trump, despite what his campaign PR elusiveness might suggest, he was unambiguously on Israels side while in office. I don't see that changing, especially if there are deals to be done and money he can gouge from the Gaza Marine natural gas field off the coast of the Gaza Strip.

Is Miriam Adelson's wife still one of Trump's biggest donors?

Again I am not sure about this - the “Israel as an unsinkable aircraft carrier” theory is probably just another one of those theories that the lobby out about (like the kibbutzim are socialist was, or like Israel is the only LGBTQ friendly state in the region are).

Trump did a lot for Netanyahu during his term and, as I said, got nothing in return. He did a lot for Saudi too, and actually got quite a lot for it.

Given how transactional he is I think that experience, plus the state of desperation that Israel and Netanyahu are likely to be, are going to combine into a whole new reality for them. They aren’t going to have the exclusive ear of the President any more.
