Current Affairs Israel is an apartheid state

Israel says they are treated unfairly because nobody complains about genocides in Africa, that's where we are at now.
This month being the 30th anniversary of the Rwandan genocide, which has been widely reported on by the BBC amongst other news outlets.

So not only a gross statement from the Isrealis, but a grossly incorrect one.

France raising the prospect of sanctioning Israel if more aid doesn't get into Gaza.

Feels like another rubicon being crossed to me. Haven't heard a major power moot the idea of sanctions against Israel before.

Israel is going to make itself a pariah the way it's going on.

Honestly I wish people would give up on the idea of unilateral, bloc or any other sanctions that are not globally enforced. They do not work.

If they want to do something to affect Israel, break off diplomatic contacts.

Oh I'm not under any illusion that sanctions would have much, if any effect. It's just a significant change in language.

But they aren’t a rogue state as most of the western world seems to side with them. While the west tuts and wags a finger they allow Isreal to do what they like.
That may change.

It took the better part of a decade, but the international community went from a giant collective shrug in South Africa's direction to sanctions, pressure and support for de Klerk's enemies. That led to Mandela's release and the end of apartheid.

Anti-Israeli government sentiment is a long way from 1990 South Africa, but there is the sense that this time, it's different. This article paints a grim view of domestic political sentiment in Israel:

If that's accurate, the problems with Israeli government policy won't disappear with Netanyahu. Foreign sentiment could then make the leap from anti-government to anti-Israel, at which point the Israelis would be in real trouble.

At the same time, a whole lot of technology flows in this direction. Israel sells the US a lot of the surveillance technology used along the border with Mexico, having done the proof-of-concept work on the Palestinians. There are significant monetary and political interests on both sides of the Atlantic arrayed against the broad shift in popular sentiment among young Americans.

How the struggle between decentralized media showing young people the brutal truth, and propaganda in more traditional media will play out is not something I'm prepared to speculate about. That's way too early to call, but it does suggest there's a pathway for change.

Every room of every hospital?
Every room of every university?
Every food convoy?
Every room of every school?

The hospital hiding Hamas has been debunked for years by western doctors who were there as well as UN and other health organisations- bollocks, mate.

My god you’re a thick, racist tit

This actually hilarious

Imagine actually believing he said these things …

A Palestinian Islamic Jihad spokesman has confessed that terrorists have taken over all of the hospitals in Gaza, using the medical facilities to hide military activities and launch attacks.

In a video released by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Monday evening, Tarek Abu Shaluf also admitted to an Israeli interrogator from military intelligence that the terrorist group had initially lied about the source of a deadly rocket strike on the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital at the beginning of the war, falsely blaming Israel in an attempt to cover up the group’s involvement.

The IDF at the time had released audio recordings in which Hamas officials can be heard admitting that Palestinian Islamic Jihad was responsible for the misfired rocket.

We fabricated a story that the rocket belonged to the ‘occupation’ [Israel] and that the target was the building” of Al-Ahli hospital, Abu Shaluf said in the newest recording. He added that the terrorist group’s communications department chose to lie in order to “erase” the fact that the rocket had fallen short of its target. He went on to say that they also “relied on the stories in the international press.”

The IDF said Abu Shaluf was one of around 900 suspects detained during the recent two-week raid on the Shifa Hospital complex, over 500 of whom were confirmed to be active terrorists. The operation also resulted in the elimination of more than 200 armed militants, including senior commanders from both Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

All of the hospitals,” Abu Shaluf told his interrogator when asked which medical facilities Hamas and Islamic Jihad utilize for their activities. He explained that the groups are able to occupy rooms and wards in every hospital across the coastal enclave, exploiting the 24/7 internet connectivity and electricity to conceal their operations.

The revelations corroborate long-standing Israeli claims that Palestinian terrorist factions systematically abuse the protected status of hospitals and other civilian infrastructure for military purposes — a flagrant violation of international law.

Hamas has consistently denied using hospitals and other civilian sites for military activities, despite mounting evidence to the contrary.

The Al-Ahli hospital strike on Oct. 17 was reported by all major news outlets minutes after it occurred. Many mainstream publications, including the New York Times, the Associated Press, and the BBC, came under fire for accepting the Hamas-released death toll at face value. The Times‘ headline said the strike killed “hundreds.” AFP later put the number of those killed by the misfired rocket at between 50-90.

@Zatara fair play, a new low, even for you !

I seen a video on YouTube where some yank rabbi said he could never forgive Hamas for forcing the idf into killing Palestinian children! No other country in the world takes the piss like these do
