SNP calling for "ceasefire" was always about trying to weaken Labour. The hypocrisy spouted is astounding. What has been achieved in calling for ceasefire is a good thing no matter what Party name is on it. It got nodded through because Tories would have not supported in vote. The only angry people are those who want anything but Labour Government.
Parliament has now agreed on ceasefire in Gaza is good.
Now lets see how long it takes to implement ceasefire. As Benjamin Netanyahu is still intent on attacking Rafah no matter the return of hostages

Indeed.

The SNP opted not to phrase the motion calling for a ceasefire on both sides, intentionally using language that couldn't garner sensible votes. Their objective was to prompt a split within Labour, rather than seeking a parliamentary ceasefire vote. Simply put, the SNP's focus wasn't on achieving a ceasefire; Gaza was not part of their envisioned outcomes and Ian Blackford pretty much admits that the SNP fudged it up last night:

Not his normal bellicose self a reformed character since his retiring from Westminster and forthcoming departure from SNP. The SNP motion contained inflammatory language that they knew would mean the motion wouldn’t pass. If they really wanted a ceasefire motion to pass they could have removed it and Labour would have voted it through. Of course that wouldn’t have caused any division in the Labour ranks would it...

Starmer had had ample time to table a motion and only did something when it became clear his MPs were going to rebel against him

Watch this interview with the Israeli Ambassador to Ireland (the article text is Premium but not the video)....

Criticism of Israel or the Israeli Government is 'anti-Semitism'.

As if we didn't know :mad::mad:

@Tennessee Blue Mike

But DON'T Criticise Israel or its Government as that is anti-Semitism.

Last time I looked the Arab people are semites.

Never not at it.

Well that was never happening. Especially after the ladies tribute to Sinead O'Connor flaked under the same pressure the previous week. As if that good lady would ever of been silenced.
