I think that it is worth noting that when Russia attempts to spin anything or to try and position itself as an ethical leader that it be understood and acknowledged that they are knowingly causing the below atrocities and war crimes, with no intent of stopping their barbarism.

This not even considering the rapes, tortue and murders Russian troops are committing in Ukraine but you can see why when Russia and its partners the Iranain regime, and Xi's China, when trying to assume a position of moral authority and leadership are dismissed. Obviously they also have the support of the Assad regime in the region.
Anyone supporting the monster Putin, or trying to excuse his regime is supporting a war criminal akin to Adolf Hitler.
It should be pointed out here that what the Israelis are doing really is at least on a pathway of being worse than what the Russians did / are doing in Ukraine.
The rumoured death toll in Mariupol for example was 20-25k after three months; at the current rate of loss (with little ground combat and a siege) of 7k after two weeks we could be looking at 42k and probably far more than that, with upwards of twenty thousand of them being kids.
A ceasefire must be imposed.

It's easy to say Israel have been persecuting Palestinians for 70 odd years and not consider the fact that Russia has been doing worse to Ukraine for at least as long. Was it just under 4 million Ukrainians died as a result of Stalins genocide in the 1930's (Holodomor). Putin's Russia wants to erase Ukraine. What may happen or may not happen does not detract from what has happened, IMO. But yes, a ceasfire in both countries will hopefully happen.

NBC is the only major television outlet in the US picking up on this. Fox is just running Israel's propaganda. CNN admits the deaths but omits the fact that the family was targeted. Nary a peep from anyone else (including MSNBC) that I can find.
NPR considers CPJ (Committee to Protect Journalists, a New York City-based nonprofit) a credible source and is running the whole sordid targeting story, which involves the deaths of a couple dozen journalists at this point.
If you want to know why the House resolution supporting Israel passed with only ten votes against, this is why. The people who listen to NPR, which is a small minority that slants well to the left, are the only people who know the whole story.

Israel state wants Gazza, think that alone it will accept the consequences. What has held it back is international diplomacy which worries of the consequences you mention and moreover it's just wrong how Israel conducts itself in its responses to Hamas in Gazza.
